Tarrant County Spring 2012 Applicants

Published

I am starting this for anyone who is applying for the TCC RN program in August.

I looked at those a while ago before orientation, but they make much more sense now that we had that little lesson lol.

Agreed. Looking over all the recommended books now and wondering what drug guide did you go with? I know you told me but I've taken a lot of cold medicine since then. :-)

Lol that's alright. I have the nursing 2012 drug book. It has a pink cover.http://www.amazon.com/Nursing2012-Handbook-Online-Toolkit-Nursing/dp/1609136195/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1325563051&sr=8-1

Thanks! Trying to go through and narrow down what I need without having a mild heart attack. May be taking my husband on a wild goose chase for books next week while we're supposed to be on vacation. LOL

Lol! Nothing wrong that! I love HPB!! They had a couple of the reference books there for about $7 a piece!

Hey all. I see that we are all scrambling and stressing about getting things done. I did my drug test today and the lady at the front desk said they were sending things to the school by tuesday. If jan. 10 is the deadline, they have got to petition us earlier. If not, maybe we'll be allowed to register later?? For those that are waiting on FA, that must be a heart attack waiting. I am paying out of pocket for everything so registering later would be better for me. Hopefully we will make it through this with our skin intact :)

I spoke to an admin today to let her know that I would not have immunizations and the health form done by friday and she said that was fine as long as I had it to them by the end of next week. Phew! Such a weight was lifted.

And I have yet to order any darn books. I'm with you Cross, heart attack would be the operative word.

I am at the health dept getting my last hep b shot. It's crazy busy today because of the meningitis vac. Ive been here since 8 so I just got done ordering the rest of the ref book. I bought some of them an edition back or used to save money.

@student- they are always busy like that!! I usually go in the afternoon its not as bad if I get there right on time, but the shortest time I had to wait was probably 15 minutes? Longest was about 2 hours... and yes they like to take their time!! Lol

i am about to order the rest of my reference books..another $150.. *sigh* i still haven't picked up my case studies yet, but i will do that when FA drops. I thought the holidays where bad, this is JUST as bad, maybe even worse! lol

This is way worse than the holidays IMO, mainly because of the time constraints we're under. I'm so worried that I won't get my books in time to get the reading done for clinicals that first day. It's not like the money can just be pulled out of thin air here. LOL

LOL, reading for theory isn't too bad, but i started reading for clinical last night, each chapter is at least 25 pages, front and back, if not more. I was like .

I ordered the fundamentals book 2nd edition used, there was like a 22 dollar difference between 2nd and 3rd edition..

and we still have to buy access codes...

It's alright though, i guess i can eat noodles for the next week...or two. Haha:lol2:
