Tarrant County Fall 2011 Applicants

Published

Hello,

I'm applying to the fall nursing program in January. I'm super excited but I still have some unanswered questions. I tried calling the Nursing Dept at the South Campus and left a message but have not heard a response.

I'm trying to find out what teas version they are testing with in the spring for fall entry. I have read tons of threads from TCC for the past few semesters and it is nice to start a new one for nursing hopefuls like me.

I'm taking Micro in the fall and getting a math class knocked out for BSN. Anyway, hope to get some responses.

I am also frustrated! I need to retake a few classes if I do not get accepted and they start soon! UGH.... please let this be the week.

Yes, we have waited long enough. If they are not sure where orientation is they should email the info when they know.

There is an education assistance program at my company, and I can not apply until I get accepted, but it takes awhile toprocess the application. It would be nice to get that started. So much is up in the air, waiting for them to mail these letters.

Hi All:

Congrats to all of you that are awaiting your determination. So hoping to be where yall are at some point. Can someone please help me with an AP question? In your opinion is it possible to take AP 1&2 in same semester? Has anyone done this? Any information is greatly appreciated!

I took A&P I with someone who was taking both that semester. She said it was hard work, but she did well in both. I guess it depends on your schedule and determination, and prof.

I guess no letters yet?

Thanks ab51 for the info!

No letters today folks. :)

Spoke to B this morning and she said mid-month. But I don't think she realized that it will be mid month in 5-6 days. She was super nice and said that she was sorry for the long wait.

Greetings from Jamaica!!! :)

But... still thinking about yall... & the damn letter! :)

I didn't even apply this time around and I am biting my nails for yall!!

But I need some advice please fellow (and future) applicants.....

I am applying in August for spring entry. Now that I know that only science GPA and Hesi scores are counting, I am worried about my science GPA. I took APII and Micro this semester and came out with an A in micro and B in APII (88 to be exact!! argh!). I was counting on my A's in the general ed courses but my outlook has changed now that they don't mean anything. Should I retake chem this summer in hopes of having 2 A's and 2 B's in my sciences?????

anyone else out there have a 3.25 science gpa and nervous about it?????

I took 10 hours this semester and work 50+ hours weekly as an M.A. I was looking forward to having my summer to myself but am now torn!!

any advice would be treasured!!!

I'm not sure that the other classes will not matter. I would contact the nursing department to find out. Weatherford College does not require that you have the general education classes complete to apply, but most people accepted to have them completed. I would check with the nursing department to see if they will weigh in. But to answer the second part of your question, I was in the same boat as you and I DID retake chem. I did not end up needing it because I was accepted to a nursing program. I would do it just in case. If you don't retake it for a better grade, and you don't get accepted.....you will be kicking yourself for the entire next semester. I would retake it (if you know you can make an A) to be safe. Although it's possible to get accepted with your grades, I would not risk it. Are you applying to other schools as well?

Thanks Loly for the advice. I have read your posts and on a bigger note CONGRATS on getting into WC!!

I will apply there too. I will be happy to be accepted anywhere but of course TCC is my first choice becuase I live 10 minutes away from the TRC.

As far as the new req's, I counseled with JM a couple of weeks ago and she informed me that the only factors in consideration for admission will be science gpa, Hesi scores and math competency. She said there will be no more bonus points. :( I'm also bummed to take the Hesi because I took my TEAS in feb so I would have it out of the way.

Thanks again Loly for your advice :)

Good luck with letters
