Hello,
I'm applying to the fall nursing program in January. I'm super excited but I still have some unanswered questions. I tried calling the Nursing Dept at the South Campus and left a message but have not heard a response.
I'm trying to find out what teas version they are testing with in the spring for fall entry. I have read tons of threads from TCC for the past few semesters and it is nice to start a new one for nursing hopefuls like me.
I'm taking Micro in the fall and getting a math class knocked out for BSN. Anyway, hope to get some responses.
I applied for only the RT program and I think all health sciences get the same checklist. On the bottom of the health sciences checklist it says, "After submission of the application, contact the health sciences office no sooner than 3 weeks after the deadline"
Well the RT programs deadline was on March 1, and I called the office last week and this week and they said that the letters would maybe be mailed out tomorrow or at the end of next week.
Even on the webpage it says that the notification letters will be mailed out within 3 weeks. I dont know if they mean as in business days or as actually 21 days because it has been more than 3 weeks.
You nursing students are so lucky that you have all these forums with other people. I cant find any RT forums that have students talking about thier program and stalking the mailman.
I want to call them everyday to see if the letters were mailed out, but i dont want to be annoying them. I know they cant tell someone over the phone if they were accepted, But i think they can tell them if they mailed out the letters and for some reason the letter was lost due to the mail system.
For some reason I cant private message anyone, maybe because im a new member? For you nursing students does it tell you that you will be notified within 3 weeks after the deadline? Can anyone that was accepted in the spring tell us that you got your letter in 3 weeks after the deadline?
Max,
Welcome to the forum. I'm sure that you are stressing like all of us and it isn't one bit of fun. Unfortunately, it isn't the same for nursing, although, I do wish that nursing was like the RT program, 3 weeks of waiting sounds amazing to me. :)
The nursing department will only notify us of anything by May. We don't know when to expect the letter. It could be next week, or it could be the last week in April or the first week in May. It totally sucks and I'm sorry we can't really be of much help. Unless of course, someone else here has any information
I heard that the RT program is just as competitive to get in, they might have gotten a lot of applications and it is taking them a little longer to get everything checked out. I know with the nursing program, several nursing advisors and secretary look over the information with each applicant and then they sit as a committee for one final look. The applications are meticulously looked over to avoid making any mistakes, thus, the long wait.
Like I said, I can only speak for the nursing program but they might have a similar system in place. Good Luck!
I woke up feeling extra stressed today. I am just starting to doubt my chances th emore I think about my TEAS scores. And maybe because I feel like I already know some of you, and would love to be in th eprogram with you. Makes me want it even more. I don't think I've ever wanted something this much.
On a positive note, I have been trying to focus on losing some weight since it gives me something else to work towards during the wait, and I've lost 9 pounds in the last 16 days.

I am feeling the same way. As each day lingers by, I worry more and more about getting a rejection letter in the mail. And like you said, a lot of it is because I feel like I already know each of you, and I look forward to going through the program with y'all. Hopefully we won't have to wait too much longer.
9lbs in 16 days is a lot. Be careful. On a good note, Congrats! it is a good goal to have!
It is a lot, but I am doing it in a healthy way. I am totally not starving, I was jusy really eating terrible before. My first degree is in nutrition, so I really have no excuse to be this out of shape.

I have a funny story to share!!!
My boyfriend knows what envelope to look for in the mailbox and the difference between the two... well.. normally I'M the one who checks the mail but today he decided to get it after work. He walked into the apartment with a little white envelope and just kinda stared at me while I'm standing there. He said "umm.. you got a letter from...." and finally he said I name that I knew personally! WHEW!!! I almsot died!!!!!!! LOL he was like "I WAS SO SCARED FOR YOU!!!" lol come to find out it is a graduation invitation for my cousin graduating and you can see through the envelope to where it says '2011 yada yada'. Lol he said he was so terrified and prayed that he wasn't going to be the bearer of bad news to me. THANK GOSH that he wasn't. I definitely got my scare in today. :/
