Tarrant County Fall 2011 Applicants

Published

Hello,

I'm applying to the fall nursing program in January. I'm super excited but I still have some unanswered questions. I tried calling the Nursing Dept at the South Campus and left a message but have not heard a response.

I'm trying to find out what teas version they are testing with in the spring for fall entry. I have read tons of threads from TCC for the past few semesters and it is nice to start a new one for nursing hopefuls like me.

I'm taking Micro in the fall and getting a math class knocked out for BSN. Anyway, hope to get some responses.

I'm guessing around April 18th.....

I definitley hope that they don't change to the HESI. I did really well on on the TEAS so I dont want to re-take another exam.

I'm guessing around April 18th.....

I really like your date :D

Good Morning All,

I hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Specializes in CNA.

Good morning ab51. Hope you have a good day as well.

I'll put in April 22

Hello to everyone. I am so happy to have come across a place like this (I must admit I have been lurking from a distance)

let me just say I admire each and everyone of you for your dedication and persistence.(you ALL have amazing GPA and Teas scores) Its really nice to have a place where we can come together to ease some of this horrible anxiety!!

A little about Myself: I just turned 21, I have a one year old son,I work full time at JPS hospital (I have applied as a JPS cohort). I have been working on my pre-reqs since the fall of 2008 at TCC and I took my Teas test Feb19.

My GPA is 3.5 and my Teas scores are not outstanding...But I'm holding on to hope. I'm hoping all of us get that BIG envelope!!

Well...now I feel old reading the recent posts haha. Everyone seems to be around 21 or 22. I just turned 25 in February :( Like some of you, I have a lot of college hours, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Business from UT Austin. I HATE the degree though by itself. I've never been one of those corporate, snobby types. All of the women in my family are actually nurses and I ended up being the black sheep who studied something different. However, deep down, I always had the desire to go to nursing school. So...I woke up one day and told myself that I refuse to be miserable forever doing something I hate. My husband encouraged me to do whatever stirred up passion in my heart, so here I am :)

It seems we all have similar stories that have led us to this point, which really makes me feel like I know all of you already. We all share that common goal of improving the lives of others. I soooo look forward to classes with you all! *fingers crossed*

Welcome to all the newcomers as well! I'm glad we're getting some more people on here.

Talk about feeling old, I will be 36 this summer, and really hope to be finished with Nursing school before my son goes to college. I don't want to have to pay for two of us in school. So, if I get in this time around I will graduate a year before he graduates from high school. I hope to meet all of you at orientation soon. We need to have a way to identify our "thread friends".

OH shhhh about being old!! there is no such thing :) but really, i admire yall even more for going back and getting youre nursing degree. That takes drive and it tough when you have a kids and a life already going!! My mom did that and it made my respect level for her jump to a whole new limit. So, congrats to you guys!! No matter what happens, you are already doing things that most people don't have the nerve to do!!! :)

And yes, we need to have a way to mark ourself for orientation because I believe we will ALL get it!! :)

Okay folks. I must me the elder of the group, at 47 with a kid graduating from college in May.

But I don't feel "old".

Must be my second childhood starting? lol

Seriously speaking, this is a very exciting time in my life and I am looking forward to every moment the future holds!

Ab and Sherri, it's so great that you guys are going back. Talk about a load to deal with when you have kids and all. My husband and I aren't quite to that stage yet haha. We just got married in '09, so I guess we are still a little selfish right now, you know? Trying to accomplish a lot of the school-related goals prior to having a family, as well as paying down student loans and all of that. Any sort of plan for a child will have to wait until after nursing school now haha. Luckily, my hubby and I should be graduating around the same time. He's currently at UTA studying Engineering. We're hoping both "in demand" jobs will put us on the right track.
