Hello,
I'm applying to the fall nursing program in January. I'm super excited but I still have some unanswered questions. I tried calling the Nursing Dept at the South Campus and left a message but have not heard a response.
I'm trying to find out what teas version they are testing with in the spring for fall entry. I have read tons of threads from TCC for the past few semesters and it is nice to start a new one for nursing hopefuls like me.
I'm taking Micro in the fall and getting a math class knocked out for BSN. Anyway, hope to get some responses.
here is a copy of the letter. i deleted any names that were in it.
dear students,
trinity river president, will be sending you crucial information this week via campus cruiser. meanwhile, here is what i know:
1. parking: . to park in the trinity river east campus lot students will need to get a hang tag that says trec on it. (about 130 spaces available). they can obtain it from the tr police. if that lot is full they can park on 3 or 4 of the tr parking garage. if the garage is full they will park on the henderson lot. a map is forthcoming to show location of henderson lot. (this is a 15 minute walk from trec. please allow extra time for parking & walking).
2. although we realize many are anxious to find classrooms and see the new spaces, we are not able to have students on campus until august 29, first day back for students. please check your cc email for instructions from president fulkerson and your instructors.
3. if you are willing to volunteer to “direct traffic” in the nursing building and be a “welcome ambassador” student for the first day or so, please contact dr. mitchell at 817-726-5553 as soon as possible. we will have a brief tour for you and a brightly colored t-shirt.
we look forward to seeing you soon and do ask your patience as we work out the myriad details associated with such a huge transition. we thank you in advance for your patience and understanding. email is the best way to contact me for questions.
I'm a little upset.. I emailed them about not being able to register and got a response saying I haven't yet turned in a picture of me for my file. I turned that in way back in early June, a week after my acceptance letter being turned in and in the same folder as other documentation. I had a feeling they lost something of mine. Atleast it's minor and I can just bring it Thursday. My luck. Lol
lmd, I was beginning to think that they were REALLY organized. Seriously though, they have this down to a science. I guess with 110 students plus all the others that are ahead of us, this was bound to happen.
Oh, and there are still lots of people who haven't registered. In my clinical schedule, it is only showing 2 people who have registered so far and that includes me.
I was trying to get organized and I watched the Hawknurse's videos that were assigned to us. It was simple stuff (or so it seems) but I can't wait to get started. It seems like I have waited a long time for this and I'm sure I can speak for all of us.
I'm sure they are organized but it still does stink when it is you that something happens to. I'm sure everyone on here knows the excitement in every little step, like registering, so it does get you bummed when you know you can't AND it's not your fault. Lol same with the name tags for me.. Just happens that way. Oh well. It will come soon enough. I am excited about thursdy though!!

They should have built a parking garage that could hold several hundred cars, rather than a parking lot that can only hold 100! Oh well. I was expecting this. On top of that, the parking garage at TR does fill up. I have noticed though that by the second month, it's less crowded. People start dropping classes and just not showing up as much. I guess I will just plan to be at school really early everyday that I have class, and I need to keep a rain coat and umbrella in my car!!!
