Tarrant County College?

Published

Hello to everyone! I'm brand new to this site, but already finding lots of great information. Are any of you familiar with or applying to Tarrant County College ASN program? I'm in the dreaded wait until the first part of May. I took my TEAS exam last weekend and did really well so I'm hoping for the best! I look forward to getting to know each of you better.

I guess it depends on where you live, because south campus is far away for me :) I haven't heard anything in awhile about the downtown campus. I wonder if they put a stop to it. Personally, while downtown is closer, dealing with that traffic would be...not so much fun.

Is the mailman scared of you yet? :D

I don't think he knew he should be, but he will be soon enough! :)

I think you are in the ball park with your guess. It seems like we had two weeks to turn in our acceptance letters. I think anytime after the 21st would be reasonable. Gosh, I'm getting really excited for you guys!!

You do realize that it's only like eight days away don't you??? I've been looking forward to this for so long that now I'm kind of dreading it. I realize that makes no sense but sometimes knowing one way or the other is not better than not knowing if you don't get the answer that you were hoping for. I think I've spent so much time thinking about what my life will look like if I get in that I haven't taken the time to think about what I will do if I don't.

Either way it's getting close and I'm excited!

I have a friend that drives in from Grapevine. That would definitely be a bit of a distance to have to drive but I guess it beats driving to Dallas or Weatherford.

I feel her pain! I'm hoping for a close clinical if I get in so at least I will only be making the drive three days a week or so.

Oh my Gosh !!! I just read the post about the orientation being May 5th. Wow !!! That is 3 weeks from now. I'm so nervous right now....my hands are shaking !! We must be going to get the letters sometime next week. Usually, 2 weeks notice is the norm, wouldn't you think ? I want to know so badly because this is a mid-life career change for me and I'm already in my low 40's. I just want in this next semester so that I can get started on my dream. Time is not on my side and it would be just awful if I had to re-apply.

Let the mailman stalking begin !!!!!! :chuckle

I know completely what you mean. I know if I don't get in that it just wasn't meant to be right now, but I sure hope that's not the case!

I know exactly what you mean because I felt the same way. I knew that at least if I didn't get in, I could continue living in the bliss of not knowing and I would fantasize about getting in and what it would all be like. You are so not alone there. I felt the same way. Ignorance can be bliss. :)

Wow - I would love to meet you too! (Especially since that means I would actually have a reason to attend the new student orientation!) Help me out though - what does TNSA stand for? (Tarrant Nursing Student Association?? - wild guess but you never know!)

I would love to meet with you guys too. It's really been an inspiration for me being able to read and share your thoughts about all of this. Just hope I get to be at orientation !!! I woke in the middle of the night last night with my eyes wide open and couldn't go back to sleep because I'm thinking about that letter.

The eight days have now become seven! In fact, orientation is three weeks from today so maybe only six days or so. Thank goodness for a busy weekend!!
