hey fellow nursing students. i must say that today was a loooong day. i enjoyed meeting some of my fellow classmates, but it seemed like there was a lot of repetition in the presentations. i think that most of us that have been working towards getting into the program knew most of the info that was addressed. other than having to sit through stuff that should've been common sense, i was excited to just be one step closer to starting. january seems so far away.

sorry i didnt get to meet you guys that have been posting on here, but i would like to keep in touch. i'm glad you guys found each other and get to be in the same group. i'm sure having a familiar face will help.

Orientation 2 days ago was definitely great! It was so amazing that Noel, Amanda and I all ended up in the same group... totally meant to be :yeah: It is nice to know that I will already know some people in my classes and clinical that we can start a study group with! All in all, it was a great day as well as incredibly exhausting. To add to all of that, I am moving out of my apartment on Friday and it turns out I am moving into a different apartment with my brother the same day... what a crazy time!:banghead: At least I am getting all the moving out of the way before school starts... I can't even begin to imagine how much more stressful that would be!

Everyone enjoy the holidays... I know I will!!!

Hey samantha!! I did get all my moving done--- FINALLY! I was going to move in with my parents, but they decided to fund my living situation so I can live with my brother in an apartment in Bedford. So we are now all moved in and settled! I still have to turn in my doctor note and do the urine sample, but that's it and I'm all ready to go! Have you done any reading yet? I have yet to start... I think I'm going to wait until the holidays are all through. Did you get all your scheduling with your job worked out? I hope you're doing well!! I'm getting so excited!!!!

I did get my scheduling ironed out actually! I'm going to work Fri, Sat and Sun until about 4. This way I have Mon-Thurs to devote to school. I pretty much have to do the same things as well. I cannot find a pair of shoes though! And oh yes, did you read on another post that we pretty much have THE hardest clinical instructor and that she is super picky? This is bad for obvious reasons but I guess good as well because then we will actually LEARN something lol.

And oh yes, definitely waiting until after the holidays to start the reading! Not only because I want to ENJOY my last shred of a normal social life for the next two yrs, but also because I'm afraid I will forget it if I read it all too early :icon_roll

I feel the exact same way about reading after the holidays! I want it to be fresh in my mind!

I have not read anything about our clinical instructor, but I guess it is for the best that we get a super hard, super picky one! We WILL learn so much!! I just need to strap on my "big girl panties" and not cry haha!! :scrying:

HOORAY for figuring out your schedule!! I think that will work out really well for you.

I'm getting more and more excited as we get closer! Almost one month before class starts! Enjoy the sleep while we still have it :)

UUGGHH!! Are any of you guys having problems finding "teal" scrub pants that are cute? I'm finding several that are aqua, ceil blue, etc, but none of the cute ones are quite right. If you guys have found some, where have you gone and what brands are they? I LOVE the Koi Lindsey pants (google it :) ) but they don't come in teal.....

HONESTLY, I haven't even STARTED to look for scrubs! I will soon, though, so I'll let you know if I have any luck!

sorry to but in, and i don't know if they come in teal, but i bought when i bought my scrubs for school, i bought the Dickies W brand. They are "cut for women with curves" even though I don't have curves, lol they fit great, the length is perfect and I think they are boot cut (I checked with my CI and she said that was fine). Just my 2 cents...good luck!

Thanks Premed I will definitely look into those! I really cannot complain too much though, because from reading many posts from students many schools require all-white uniforms or uniforms with vests, so I guess we won't look too bad LOL :chuckle

i love the cherokee low-rise, wide leg (boot cut) scrub pants. they have a drawstring waist in the front, elastic in the back, and are very comfortable...they also come in teal.

Also urbane scrubs are good, dont know if they come in teal though.

hope this helps

Whilst looking around for shoes, everybody keeps telling me that crocs makes shoes for medical professionals that are hole-free and have backs. I had never been able to find them but I did at scrubs, etc! Question is, are the Crocs "specialist" shoes allowed at TCC? Like I said they do not have any holes and they have an actual back to them---->

I sure hope so! :-D
