Im in Texas, graduated Dec 2010. I FINALLY got a job offer this july. Then it seemed like all the others followed, I've had to turn down a few offers, I'm giving notice at my current job, and I have accepted 2 other positions. One PRN, one full time. I'd gotten discouraged too. All I can say is try to stay positive and dont give up. There is something out there.

Oh my goodness, I just got the alert for new messages posted here, I'd forgotten all about this post. I went back an re-read it though. LOL. First off, CONGRATS!!!!! I'm so glad that you've finally met your goal of becoming an RN. Second, my update is that I made it to the last semester of nursing school, found out I was pregnant again! I managed to finish the semester with the only C I'd gotten in nursing school. I graduated in December, passed my boards in February. I had my last child in April, got to stay home with her for 3 months, now I've just accepted a job working at a surgery center :) Hope things continue going great for you!

Hi all, I've been following this post for a while, although I haven't posted on it. I graduated in December with my ADN, i've already taken and passed the NCLEX. I applied to pretty much everything that I could find online, and I haven't gotten a single call from anywhere. I've gotten a bunch of reject emails, but that's pretty much it. I'm honestly getting kind of discouraged. I feel like I went through school for nothing. Just wanted to say good luck to everyone, I sincerely hope you all get jobs. If I don't get a position this time, I'm not sure what my options are, as most hospitals only do internships with ppl that have graduated within 6 months. I've tried rehab, dialysis, LTAC, and urgent care facilities, and so far nothing. Once again, good luck to you all.

I took the exam in December. I did not sign up for any related courses. All the info you need to pass the exam is on the website, and there's plenty of time to search for it.

I took my test on Friday, cut off on me at 75 questions. I just knew I failed it. Did the PVT, it gave me the good popup. Checked my quick results this AM. PASS!!!!!

first of all, i want to say congrats to all of you that were accepted. you're in for a he** of a ride. i am currently in my first semester, cant wait for that last exam and check-off. it has been a loooong semester, but definitely filled with good experiences. i must say that i have a pretty good group that i've worked with. one thing i want you to remember, is that you will be terrified after camp success tomorrow. you'll worry all summer about what is in front of you, but know, you made it this far, and you will continue to succeed. the first semester is going to be different from what you've been used to, but if you can adjust to the new way of test taking you should be fine. my grades wil be 2 a's and a b ( as long as nothing drastic happens ). so that's proof that making good grades and passing is possible. i know it will be hard, but dont spend all summer thinking and worrying, enjoy your time off. we have 6 weeks before we start mental health in july, and i plan to do nothing but relax. school takes a lot of work, but it pays off, and it certainly won't kill you. this semester i have still worked (part time), i have two daughters (1 and 11), and i'm planning a wedding. so i've had a full plate. if you have any questions or need any tips, feel free to ask. my suggestion to you going in is make friends with the smart people, join tnsa, and enjoy nursing school, this is the stuff of memories.

I'm starting my clincals this month and i need some all white leather shoes. I tried on the Danskos which i've heard people swear by, they were kinda tight acroos the foot. I also tried on the klogs. These were more comfortable overall. Im skeptical of which one's to get, because everyone (even the saleslady) swears by danskos. Im not so sure they will stretch enough for me, then i'm stuck with a pair that don't fit. Any suggestions or ideas? I really want to know what people think of the klogs.

although the dansko "professional" doesnt lace up, would this one be off limts too, it's not a slip on that doesnt have a back to it.

well, i work at Medical Center of Arlington, i do not know if the programs are the same across all the HCA facilities. Also, as far as I know, MCA only takes people in the spring semesters. Their requirements to apply are the same as the school's. You have to submit two apps. One to the hospital to even be considered, and then one to the school for them to consider you in a seperate pool than everyone else. As far as experinces, i dont have anything to share yet, as i will be starting in January 09. I'll add some when i get them. Good Luck with your progress.

i just wanted to share my story with you. sometimes it seems like we are struggling through this journey on our own. i just wanted to let you know that i feel your pain. there have been so many times that i wondered if this was the right path for me, it seemed like everything that could stand in my way did. good luck to you, i'll say a prayer that you get in to one of the programs that you applied for. keep in mind, my favorite phrase, "something's gonna work out.":up:

i just wanted to let you know that you are definitely not alone. i was taking pre-reqs for ns in michigan. i actually completed them all and was accepted to a school there. unfortunately, i was unable to start that program, because i worked full time and they program was full time. i couldnt get my schedules to work together, and feeding my daughter won out. then i began trying to get into another local school. well guess what? they wanted me to have a different set of pre-reqs.:uhoh21: after working to meet all of their pre-reqs, and getting ready to apply to the seconds schools program, i found out i was pregnant.:redbeathe definitely not in the plans. well, maybe i could've done both, but then i find out that we're gonna have to move to texas if we want to have a job. so here i am, september of 07, moving to arlington, with a one moth old. once i'm here, i find that my chemistry class wont transfer to tcc because it was only 3 credits, theirs is 4. so in january, i force myself to sign up for a class i've already taken (took it in a 6 week summer semester and got an a the first time). i finish chemistry with an a again, and finally, i am able to apply to a nursing program again. i found out in november that i was accepted, and will be starting in january 09.:d sorry my story was so long, but i wanted you to know that you're not alone in your struggle. for most of us, it hasnt been an easy road. please dont give up. you will definitely appreciate it more when you finish. it will be worth that much more. good luck!!!

i love the cherokee low-rise, wide leg (boot cut) scrub pants. they have a drawstring waist in the front, elastic in the back, and are very comfortable...they also come in teal. Also urbane scrubs are good, dont know if they come in teal though. hope this helps

well, i have my days at mca. for the most part, i really enjoy what i do, then there are days when i just want to scream. it is good to know that i can transfer, i've heard that they have facilities all over the us. but as far as liking the hospital, i think that no matter where you go, there are going to be issues.

i work at mca and just got accepted into the hca/tcc program. so far, from what we have heard, it sounds like a good program. we only have class one day a week and clinical one day a week. we get paid for the 8 hour class day, and only have to work 24 additional hours to be considered full time. of course, you do have to commit to 2 years, but they pay for everything, and because they want you to succeed, your current manager will work with you as far as scheduling and what not. i'm a little nervous about the two year committment though, but if you change your mind, you will just have to pay the money that they paid out on your behalf. but...think of it this way, you're garanteed a job.
