Any Tarrant County College Fall 2009 applicants out there?
Hi you guys! I just finished my first semester at TCC, are there any questions I can help you with? I remember being so stressed out before class started and having a million questions with no one to really answer them, so I would be more than happy to if you have any! To the person who didn't get in, it is probably due to the B's in your sciences and your TEAS grade. I would recommend retaking those classes during the summer for an A. Summer classes are hard, but easier at the same time because you don't have the time to forget the info. Good luck!

Nursing instructor that reads powerpoint word for word
This was exactly my situation and it took me almost the whole semester to figure out how to teach myself the information. The best advice I can give you is READ the chapters. Read ANYTHING you can find on the topic, if you're having trouble with one, and even go to YouTube and try and find a video explaining an aspect of it. I am a very visual learner, so when it came to learning about ostomys, the best thing for me was to look up a video on it. I hope this helps!

Tarrant County College ADN Program Spring 2009!
I'm going in the morning. I have to be at work at 2 so I am planning on knocking it out early! What time are you going?? I am turning in my last papers tomorrow too so I could NOT be more excited about signing up for classes in a few days!!! I do have one question, though, that I would like your opinion on. On the pages where it tells you what readings need to be done before class starts, in the Jarvis book it says to read Ch 8 pg 133. Pg 133 is the title page and has very little information on it. Do you think it means to read Ch 8 or just to read the title pages to get a rough view of what we will be learning in the first few weeks??

I feel the exact same way about reading after the holidays! I want it to be fresh in my mind! I have not read anything about our clinical instructor, but I guess it is for the best that we get a super hard, super picky one! We WILL learn so much!! I just need to strap on my "big girl panties" and not cry haha!! HOORAY for figuring out your schedule!! I think that will work out really well for you. I'm getting more and more excited as we get closer! Almost one month before class starts! Enjoy the sleep while we still have it :)

Hey samantha!! I did get all my moving done--- FINALLY! I was going to move in with my parents, but they decided to fund my living situation so I can live with my brother in an apartment in Bedford. So we are now all moved in and settled! I still have to turn in my doctor note and do the urine sample, but that's it and I'm all ready to go! Have you done any reading yet? I have yet to start... I think I'm going to wait until the holidays are all through. Did you get all your scheduling with your job worked out? I hope you're doing well!! I'm getting so excited!!!!

Tarrant County College ADN Program Spring 2009!
Orientation 2 days ago was definitely great! It was so amazing that Noel, Amanda and I all ended up in the same group... totally meant to be It is nice to know that I will already know some people in my classes and clinical that we can start a study group with! All in all, it was a great day as well as incredibly exhausting. To add to all of that, I am moving out of my apartment on Friday and it turns out I am moving into a different apartment with my brother the same day... what a crazy time! At least I am getting all the moving out of the way before school starts... I can't even begin to imagine how much more stressful that would be! Everyone enjoy the holidays... I know I will!!! :gingerbreadman: :tree: :snowman: :snowflake: :candy: :stocking: :gift:

How about around 7? Registration starts at 7:30 so that should give us enough time to get down there. Does that work for you or did you have a different time in mind?

Tarrant County College ADN Program Spring 2009!
Hi, Samantha!! I am Kristen Right now I live in Colleyville, about 30 minutes away from the school so I DEFINITELY know what you mean, wanting to move closer to the campus! Dang early morning traffic. There is a coffee shop on campus, would you all be interested in meeting there before going to the rotunda? If not there, is there anywhere else you would rather meet?

That sounds great! I would love to meet up. I knew that if it was a large envelope I would be in the clear, so I definitely know what you mean, it being such a relief! I live by the northeast campus so I will also be there early. Let me know where you would like to meet up!
