Hi Everyone!
I will be taking the pax exam in June. I've heard that this exam is really hard. Everything is depending on me passing. I only have my a & p I, II and microbiology left and then I am finished with my pre-reqs. Can anyone give me some advice on studying to prepare myself. I am really nervous and want to pass it the first time i take it. Any input would be appreciated?
Thanks A Bunch:) :)

Check out a study guide from the library & go through that. It helped me. Go over math problems...decimals, fractions, algebra, conversions, etc. And for science...it covers a bit of everything...chemistry, physics, biology, general science, etc.
I used "Nursing School and Allied Health Entrance Exams" by Marion F. Gooding (Arco Academic Test Preparation) for a study guide and it helped a lot. Got it from my local library...but if you would want to buy it, it's not too expensive...under $20 on amazon.com
Good luck! :)

I bought the study guide that is made for the PAX-RN. It reviewed everything that I needed to go over. Once I did all of the problems every night for about 2 weeks, I was fine. The day before I did not even look at that book. The exam was exactly like the study guide. I did well and was accepted into my first choice nursing school.

Hi,
I am taking it on Saturday. I don't know what to expect. I feel I have covered everything. I used Barrons and the NLN Study Guide. Only 2 days and it will be over!!
jemommy,
Can you tell me what book it was that you used? I would like to get it. Did the test seem hard? I don't have to take the test until June but I really want to be prepared. I ordered a physics and chemistry for dummies book from amazon because i haven't had either one of those classes. I was told that there is a lot of physics on the test.

Do all programs require the PAX? This is the first I've heard of this exam. How soon is it recommended that you take the exam?

No, not all schools require the PAX. Some require the NET or some other type of entrance test. Others don't require a test at all, but instead go by GPA, number of prereqs already complete, interview, or combination of the above.
