Taking NCLEX-RN in 4 days!! Kaplan scores? And encouragement!

Published

Well the time is finally here! I am taking my boards in just 4 days! I get nervous and then I get excited!! I am nervous just because that is the type of person I am. I wonder what if they ask me ONLY questions I don't know? What if I clam up and second guess everything?! I have been working on relaxing throughout all my practice exams - which leads me to the excited part. The more practice I do with questions the more confident I become. I feel like my school has decently prepared me. I get to a question and am flooded with memories of my first semester. I am amazed that the introductory info still fits in my tiny brain! I have been using Kaplan on demand for my review. I go through periods where I find it useful and then where I find their rationales quite far fetched. But, overall, I am very glad that I purchased it. Anyway for those of you that took Kaplan, feel free to tell me if you think (based on my scores below) that I am ready. some scores are better than others, but on average I normally scored at or above the 65% Kaplan says you should aim for. I feel ready! Just nervous :/ and, please, EVERYONE feel free to give me words of wisdom and encouragement (and prayers!). This site is always so encouraging and inspirational. I need a little of that!

Qbank (93% completed-will finish in the next 2 days) average 64%

Diagnostic -69%

Q trainer 1 - 67%

Q trainer 2 - 65%

Q trainer 3 - 58%

Q trainer 4 - 65%

Q trainer 5 - 55% (yikes!)

Q trainer 6 - 68%

Q trainer 7 - 67%

Readiness - 71%

I also think I am nervous about the SATA questions, as I do not feel Kaplan has given me much practice with them. I have heard NCLEX SATA are not as difficult as Kaplans...opinions?

Thanks everyone for all your support! This website has been a godsend from the first moment I decided I wanted to become a nurse...all the way until now :)

according to kaplan's rule "acheive at least 60% on all QBank timed practice tests and on QT 6 and 7," you are more than fine darling! If anyone is worried, it's me. I just got a 58 on QT6. my test is in 5 days and I haven't done QT7 yet!! ):

but Kaplan says high 50s is fine, but it doesn't leave me much room for error.

Lillybud,

I am so proud of you! You got this!!! I am scoring 52-64% on question trainer 1-4 so far and I'm not scoring as high as you. You have this on the bag, you're ready

58 is not bad at all!! I keep saying to myself - you know your stuff! Don't let this test scare you! So I say the same to you :) Many well thoughts on your test day! I can't wait to hear that you are now a RN!!

Thank you so much Peppermint! I did not do as well on alot of my Qbank quizzes. A lot of 50% on those... I just hope the NCLEX has mercy on me! especially with those SATA...

I'm trying not to let the test scare me!! thanks (:

Lillybud your scores reflect that you are ready! When I got a 72% on the Kaplan diagnostic, I didnt think it was all that great. But my instructor told me after seeing it that "You will breeze through NCLEX" and I did. You will do great. I had alot of anxiety as well but once your sitting in front of that test just practice your breathing and take it one question at a time. Also I am not a fan of SATA and low and be hold out of 75 questions on NCLEX, I received a whopping 40 SATA, thats no lie! I thought to my self "You have got to be kidding me!", every other question was a SATA and thats what got me through because, I felt if I wasnt doing well why would they keep asking my SATA? And their SATA are not as hard as Kaplan.

DebraAnne! I tried to message you but it said you had too many messages in your inbox :) Anyway - here is what I wrote!

ughhhh, That test was a nightmare. It took me about close to 5 hours to do it...and then 3 to review it. I think I got into a fight with my husband somewhere in between, ha! But, none the less, way too long! worth it though, right?!

Whaaaa?! 3 hours to review? It's probably cuz you had less wrong answers than I did. It's taking me 12 hours to review just half the test! i don't wanna pull an all nighter this close to test day just to finishing reviewing. ugh.
