Taking NCLEX-PN in 2 days. Any advice?

Published

i used lippincotts review for awhile did about 600 practice questions. Also used REA'S Interactive Flashcards. Going to brush up on my lab values. Taking the NCLEX in Florida. Very very nervous. So far i know 10 people from my class who took the boards and passed. Just can't stop this anxiety I feel.

I was pretty anxious before I took mine too...and after....I just knew I failed! (I didn't, but pretty much everyone feels that way). Try and relax, get some decent sleep, eat something light if it's early in the morning, allow yourself enough time to get there. And you really do know more than you realize. Think about your questions, many of the answers seem right, some are just better than others. They give you plenty of time to test, take advantage of it. Some people are able to remember when the test turned off. I have absolutely no idea when mine did, the number of questions wasn't my focus. The first few questions were pretty simple, that helps you settle in and focus.

Good luck!!

My biggest help before a major test is a positive attitude. Remember The quote by Thomas, " If men define situations as real, they are real in their consequences." The self fulfilling prophecy.

Go into this test with I am going to pass attitude and fulfill your own destiny.

I don't study the material the day of the test if it is in the morning, but I do if it is taken in the afternoon. I quiz my classmates,( you retain 90% of what you teach another). Remember the NCLEX is written in a way that your ability to pull from the question what they are really asking you is key, the knowledge base is in your head already, you know this stuff, have confidence in yourself.

I will be looking for your " I passed" post in the next few days. Congratulations on becoming a NURSE! :yeah:

Good Luck! usually go with your first pick for the answer, and remember the ABC's , airway -breathing and circulation, in questions that want to know "what to do first' ect. Let us know how you did!;-)

You will do just fine. Try to relax and think positive.

Relax, watch the Olympics... go work out... make some brownies (EAT THEM). There is nothing more you can learn. You have put a lot of time into studying. So close to your testing time now it's important to unclutter your brain.

This was great advice given to me. You need to decompress in order to think clearly.

Just take your time Read evry question all the way through. Best of Luck:)

At this point you should be ready. Relax and practice your relaxation techniques for the day of the test. Good luck.

Thanks all of you. I feel alot better, I am going to come back and read these posts if i ever feel anxiety

creeping on me again.

I WILL PASS THE NCLEX!!!

RELAX! And leave your house in enough time to get there in case there is traffic...the first time I took NCLEX, I took it in the city, and all the closest garages were full---ridiculous, I know, so I was almost late for my appt because I couldn't find anywhere to park!!! Anyhow, I did end up failing because I was so anxious because of everything that happened before I even got there. It was so stupid, because the second time I took it I remember thinking, seriously? I failed this the first time? So--relax and go with your gut...good luck!
