Taking NCLEX for the 2nd time Aug. 14 and need a study buddy!

Published

i graduated this past may 09 and took boards june 24. i didn't pass and my job has agreed to work with me in hopes that i will stay with them. so, i'm working 8-5 monday thru friday and all i'm doing is studying until i retake boards august 14th!! i really need help! i have the saunders book and am going to get the 2010 kaplan review book this weekend, but i feel like i'm missing something important. my job has been so great in working with me and not only do i not want to fail for my own reasons but i don't want my work to think they wasted their time on me. i am a great nurse! i know that, but i don't know how to answer questions. i felt as though the nclex didn't reflect my knowledge and competency as a rn. any advice would be much appreciated!!

Hello guys...im taking my exam on August 24 for the second time also. I took mine last July 2nd and i flunk it big time. I had 96 questions and it was very draining. I used saunders thats all. I didnt used any other sources coz i dint have the money to pay for it and i dont have a job right now.

Right now im using saunders 4ht edition, i borrowed books from the library nclex rn made it easy, i have lacharity prioritization, and im using this website courtesy fr one of the guys fr this webstie:http://nursing.goivytech.net/nclexrn3500/mainMenu.do; it is very helpful and i found lots of questions that similar to my questions during i took the exam.

I've been studying my butt off but there are days that i don't feel like reading just don't have the motivation to look at the books. Sometimes also i think that i'm not meant to be anurse. It's very depressing because i was a very good student and i receive award for being best in clinical.

It's been hard but what i can do, everything happen for a reason. I just need to double my effort.

I hope that we all pass it for the second time. I will keep you guys always in my prayers.

God Bless!

good luck! i know how you feel!! what state are you testing in?

Hello ktbeth! good noon..Here in Texas...i'm schedule 11am at hurst..I hope that i will pass it. It's getting very expensive especially i'm not working right now.

Thank you!!!Goodluck to you also!

I saw your list of things to study. I'm doing the same thing. Right now i'm doing my weakest point which is OB..I've been answering questions at least 300 everyday with rationale. But no matter how hard i study i feel like i'm missing something.

Hope i won't get anxious again for the second time i will take the exam because last time i got so stress out. I had diarrhea for 2 days prior to taking the exam. I was a mess.

Again thank you..ijust reading your post i feel so motivated again to study.
