Just wondering who's taking the NCLEX in January and what you are doing to study? I graduated this week w/ my AAS in nursing and I'm trying to spend 2 hrs a day studying using ATI, Saunders and a couple other NCLEX books. I'd like to test at the end of Jan. Start my job on Jan 21st.

Introduce yourself! :)

Did the Kaplan review which ended on Jan 11, took the NCLEX on the 15th, shut off at 75, found out today that I passed.

Well, my school sent in our applications today after one of the hopsitals called to complain they were taking too long and that people were going to lose their positions of they didn't get a date soon!

Geez, it has been over a month (we gradiuated Dec. 15th).

Maybe I will get to take it in February?

I take NCLEX on Feb 11. I'm trying to take as many practice questions as I can. I've been to a Rinehart review, have a Saunders book, a Hurst book a Hesi book/disc and several random CDs (saunders, springhouse, thompson-delmar, , and NCLEX 3000). So what I'm reading here is is that NONE of these are similar to NCLEX???

Most of these questions appear too simple and easy, Im getting 78-80's on all the practice exams. What should I be doing? Does anyone know which review questions are MOST like NCLEX???? What do I need to be practicing with? HELP !!!

wow congrats! its a good start in ths year!

I used a lot of those review books with questions during school to prepare for exams, I also had the Lipincott one. But when it came to prepping for the NCLEX, my school required us to take the Kaplan Review, so I did that. I thought I would also look at the review books but I had no time, the Kaplan had so much material to work with. To be totally honest with you I'm glad that I only used the Kaplan review course, because the NCLEX questions were very very similar to the Kaplan ones, and having gone through the review class helped me with answering the questions and passing at 75, so I recommend Kaplan.

Good luck!!

Not that I'm the expert (taking NCLEX Feb. 1st, WOOT!) But I'd say you don't want to spread yourself too thin. Doing questions is good, but personally I'm focusing on content. I took Hurst review (loved it!) and I'm doing what they say to do: Know that book inside and out, know the WHY behind the disease process to help you critically think. Remember to keep the patient safe and if you know general patho and basic pharm you should be able to critically think your way through the questions.

You want to be in the HIGHEST level questions, which are critical thinking/analysis questions. If you get up there you should pass!

I'll let you know how my plan works out in a few weeks!
