Taking Nclex the day after Halloween!!

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Oh my, I did not realize when I booked the exam for this coming Tuesday, that it is Halloween on Monday! That freaks me out now!

I have to fly to another island on Monday and sleep over for the night, because the only time that they offer the exam is at 8 am, every Tuesday and I am SO not a morning person. :uhoh3:

I hope I will be able to sleep in a strange bed on Halloween night and be ready for this grueling ordeal the next morning...

Anyway, I am also freaking out, because I don't think I know enough, but I can't postpone the exam, because the plane tickets and the hotel ticket has been bought already!

The funny thing is that I never thought that I would write on here before the exam, but I have to, because you all understand what it is like to freak out like this!!

:eek::eek::eek:

My husband doesn't, even though he is very supportive.

Oh well, just wanted to share that!

And I will appreciate any prayers that I can get, thanks!

Jlcmb,

Really? Hoping it was enough! Never want to take this test again. Like the O.P., would love to put everything away & not worry about it again! At least not unless I decide to go RN (kind of unlikely, but you never know. Didn't think I'd be going to become an LPN either!).

Yup no kidding :):):) I've been reading Saunders 5th Edition, did the NCSBN 3-week review, Kaplan Strategies, Exam Cram 3rd edition, enrolled Hurst Online and LaCharity PDA except that i'll be taking the NCLEX RN exam and i think you'll be taking the NCLEX PN :):) been reviewing for about 3 1/2 months ..... wow I think I overdid it yaiks :eek::eek:

Anyway good luck to all November takers !!!!

Please review test taking skills now to make sure you have them down packed for those questions you have no clue about. This is what I did the two days before I took Nclex. I practice test taking skills on questions to make sure I was able to apply them... Good Luck and God Bless!!!@

Keep us posted on the results.

Don't think it matters whether it's RN or PN when you're going to take it...Scary/Intimidating either way:)

I have always "overdone" most things...lol, & I KNOW I overdid this as well. Had a panic attack a few days ago & almost rescheduled it...Even logged into Pearson Vue & stared at the button for a few minutes before logic made me log out quickly!

Decided to stop reading & pushing so hard & just do a 200 question practice exam every morning till the day before the test. I decided that as long as I scored above a 75%, I would not reschedule. I made myself do practice tests that I hadn't seen the questions from yet from a multitude of sources (Exam Cram, one from the back of my Kaplan book, & the question bank questions I hadn't answered yet in NCSBN Learning Extension). Scores have been 72%-85% so far so I'm going on Tuesday!

We all need to breathe, relax, believe in ourselves & our preparation!!! After all, I have to keep reminding myself that if I am scoring 70%-85% on questions I've not seen before, from multiple/credible authors, that cover such a wide variety of information...I have to be prepared! They want "Safe & Effective Entry Level Nurses"!!!

I AM GOING TO PASS, I AM GOING TO PASS, I AM GOING TO PASS, etc... :D

Catholics call it all saint day! Call on one! my LVN program ends November 30, prepping for all those year end exams--- but one teacher started ball rolling with saunders (4th ed.)and i also purchased exam cram--trying to do a test a day, in the beginning i had to ask myself a few times if i went to nursing school? but as i practiced and others taught me that its not the knowledge as much on how to take the test....

Anxiety hits me big time, I practice taking the Big test visually in my mind grounding myself feet firmly on the ground sitting in front of a computer - now just breathe.... and relax from head to toe with each breath.... I wish you great success and much blessings

I went for a refreshing swim in the ocean this afternoon and am now studying a little bit more on the pharmocology, not my best subject...:uhoh3:

I will call on all the Saints at my church to pray to Jesus that he will help me with this on Tuesday!

All of the best with your studies as well!

Thank you & same to you. He has guided me through so much over the past 10 years (very long story) & I have decided to let Him guide me through this test. If I am meant to have my license, I'll have it...If not, I will just cry, get back up, dust off, & go back!

hi everyone. I took the PVT this evening after our flight home on the seaplane from the island where I took the exam and I got the 'good' pop-up.

I cried almost all day! I was so sure that I failed when the computer shut down after 75 questions, 2 hours! I really thought it meant that I failed, it felt like I knew NOTHING.

I did not have that many SATA questions and the ones that I got seemed a bit easier than the ones that I practiced, NO math and one ECG strip to interpret.

I so hope that this PVT is true.

I took my exam through California, so I have to wait 2 to 4 weeks for the results, because Cali does not have quick results.

I prayed all week that I wouldn't have a headache before my exam and God answered my prayer, but I have one now, think I'll go to bed with a hot milky drink!

By the way, if the PVT is true and I passed this exam, then it is only by God's grace!
