Taking Nclex the day after Halloween!!

Nursing Students NCLEX

Oh my, I did not realize when I booked the exam for this coming Tuesday, that it is Halloween on Monday! That freaks me out now!

I have to fly to another island on Monday and sleep over for the night, because the only time that they offer the exam is at 8 am, every Tuesday and I am SO not a morning person. :uhoh3:

I hope I will be able to sleep in a strange bed on Halloween night and be ready for this grueling ordeal the next morning...

Anyway, I am also freaking out, because I don't think I know enough, but I can't postpone the exam, because the plane tickets and the hotel ticket has been bought already!

The funny thing is that I never thought that I would write on here before the exam, but I have to, because you all understand what it is like to freak out like this!!

:eek::eek::eek:

My husband doesn't, even though he is very supportive.

Oh well, just wanted to share that!

And I will appreciate any prayers that I can get, thanks!

hi everyone. I took the PVT this evening after our flight home on the seaplane from the island where I took the exam and I got the 'good' pop-up.

I cried almost all day! I was so sure that I failed when the computer shut down after 75 questions, 2 hours! I really thought it meant that I failed, it felt like I knew NOTHING.

I did not have that many SATA questions and the ones that I got seemed a bit easier than the ones that I practiced, NO math and one ECG strip to interpret.

I so hope that this PVT is true.

I took my exam through California, so I have to wait 2 to 4 weeks for the results, because Cali does not have quick results.

I prayed all week that I wouldn't have a headache before my exam and God answered my prayer, but I have one now, think I'll go to bed with a hot milky drink!

By the way, if the PVT is true and I passed this exam, then it is only by God's grace!

I took it today also, and the PVT says that I passed, not really the test I studied for but, hey. I only had 4 SATA (pretty easy), a bunch of questions on meds that I have never heard of, and some that were familiar I just wans't sure, about what the question was asking, 1 image for infection control, and 1 EKG where I had to answer the question by choosing one of the 4 EKG strips, that were my options. But, anyway the PVT works. I worked when I took the Nclex PN (I passed), and I believe that is it accurate now. So, CONGRATS to both you and I my friend!!!.

Cloudwatcher & DreamNurseRN,

Congratulations :yeah:to both of you! :anpom: Cloudwatcher, I hope your H/A wasn't too horrible & is long gone now!

I also got the "candidate previously passed" message at pearson vue...Thank the Lord above! I cannot imagine taking it again, I pray the PVT works :uhoh3:.

That was THE MOST DIFFICULT TEST EVER! One of my instructors gave us "NCLEX style questions" throughout school & I thought that THEY were difficult, but they were NOTHING compared to yesterday. I think I'm too close to this & too shellshocked to think rationally still, but I never imagined I would have to make educated guesses throughout 90% of the test. I was valedictorian of my class, but felt so rediculously ignorant yesterday:eek:

I, unfortunately, got 30 or so SATA & I have always been terrible with those:crying2: I read somewhere that they are the "test questions" for future tests. I don't know if that's true, but I cannot imagine that I could have passed unless they are. I know that in all of my practice tests, I did terrible with that style of question. I either choose too many or too few, usually by one, but always too many/few! :hdvwl:

I truly walked out in such a manic mess, convinced the entire 2hr trip home that there was no way I passed & petrified about taking it again! Congratulations, I PRAY THE PVT IS ACCURATE FOR ALL OUR SAKES!!!

Have the happiest of Thanksgivings! :hrnsmlys:

hi Trachkids, have you heard officially whether you passed? I guess DreamnurseRN must have heard by now...

I am still waiting and waiting and waiting.

I have now done the PVT about 20 times and got the 'good' pop-pup every time. I even pretended that I wanted to register for the PN exam and it took me past the area where I always get the good pop-up for the RN exam, sooo, I have high hopes...

I got my license today!!! It's official, I am finally a nurse!

As far as the PVT, I read through so many posts on here over the past two days to see if I could find ANYONE that had received the good pop up & had later found out that they had failed...Not one!

I know what you're feeling though...Too scared to let yourself believe it & let down your gaurd...I felt exactly the same until I logged into my screen name on the PA BON website this morning & instead of "pending" status, it said "active" & gave the license number along with everything else. I was in such shock & so happy, I started screaming & pounding on the desk...My husband got scared & was going to call 911!

I hope you get the news soon...Keep checking your state's BON site!

:yeah::hpygrp:::dncgbby: to you Trachkids!! happy for you! hopefully I'll know for real soon...
