Take my survey, its for class!!!

Published

Hi everyone-I am doing a report for my business comm. class and it has to be related to my degree. So, I decided to do it on the nursing shortage. I have some excellent journals articles, etc. but I have to conduct a survey and I was hoping all of you could help me. All I need is a few questions answered. I would like 100 responses-but I will evaluate all surveys November 1st. I really appreciate everyone taking their time to do this for me because I visit this site all the time!! The q's are below-thanks!!! you do not need to give your name or any personal info.

1.) what is your highest level of education?

2.) What type of facility do you work in? (Hospital, homehealth, office, etc)

3.) Is your current facility hiring? Does it offer hire-on bonuses?

4.) Do you feel as though your place of employment is short staffed?

5.) If #4 is "yes," Can you give one or two examples?

6.) How many hours do you work a week? Do you feel valued? Overworked?

7.) Is overtime expected of you?

8.) Have you left a job bc of short staffing?

9.) How many years have you been working in the field?

10.) If near retiring age, do you plan on retiring, or continuing to work? Do you feel as though retiring is an option-or do you feel as though you are "needed" be your facility too badly to leave?

***thanks everyone***

1.) what is your highest level of education? adn

2.) what type of facility do you work in? (hospital, homehealth, office, etc) hospital

3.) is your current facility hiring? does it offer hire-on bonuses? yes and i don't know

4.) do you feel as though your place of employment is short staffed? not right now

5.) if #4 is "yes," can you give one or two examples?

6.) how many hours do you work a week? do you feel valued? overworked? 36. yes. sometimes.

7.) is overtime expected of you? no

8.) have you left a job bc of short staffing? no

9.) how many years have you been working in the field? 18.5

10.) if near retiring age, do you plan on retiring, or continuing to work? do you feel as though retiring is an option-or do you feel as though you are "needed" be your facility too badly to leave? not applicable

1.) what is your highest level of education? ADN

2.) What type of facility do you work in? (Hospital, homehealth, office, etc) Community hospital, Med surge/ortho

3.) Is your current facility hiring? Yes Does it offer hire-on bonuses? No, the benifits they offer are beyond any hire on bonus!!! :)

4.) Do you feel as though your place of employment is short staffed? Sometimes, but rarely.

5.) If #4 is "yes," Can you give one or two examples? IF our hospital gets a surge of ER pts, we have limited capacity in ER, ICU and PCU..and that tends to send their pts to our floors respectfully. Some days it is vital to take on 6 pts because of a suprise high census. Management is very good about getting people in or using agency to cover this...but it depends on if anyone wants to work, or if agency is available...some days it is not. They do reward us with items for taking on large loads like this with freebies at local eateries, free icecream, orders pizzas for the floor, discounts at grocery stores...etc!

6.) How many hours do you work a week? I am what is called 8/80, so I work 8 hour shifts for 80 hrs a two week period. Do you feel valued? YES! Overworked? On occasion yes, but not often!

7.) Is overtime expected of you? Our company knows that in order to fulfill your duties, OT is part of that if things are to be done correctly. They try to limit OT so that staff doesn't get ill or burned out...but will allow OT if you either have to in order to get the job done, or request it for legitimate financial reasons (if it is possible by staffing). It is also an incentive to come in on days off if you are called...big bonus for suprise large census!

8.) Have you left a job bc of short staffing? Heck yes! Two jobs actually!

9.) How many years have you been working in the field? 7 years

10.) If near retiring age, do you plan on retiring, or continuing to work? According to excellent retirement plans by my employeer it is worth waiting till I am 65! So I will keep it up if I can to that point then retire! Do you feel as though retiring is an option-or do you feel as though you are "needed" be your facility too badly to leave? I will retire at 65, and leave the hard work for younger folks! LOL!!!!!!
