SWEDISH NEW GRAD RN RESIDENCY AUGUST 2020

Published

This is such a crazy time and I hope you guys are all healthy & safe. I applied for the Swedish RN residency for august 2020 and haven't heard anything. I know its a weird time but I graduate in 2 weeks and haven't heard anything. Has anyone heard anything about the august 2020 residency?

@haleyc522 @McKinleemay I am in the process of applying for a 2 bedroom with my friend who started there in the last cohort. Rent is expensive so having a roommate makes it much more affordable.

@McKinleemay @amazinggrace I flew out to Seattle a few weeks ago to check some places out.. There is a newly constructed building directly across the street from Cherry Hill! It’s called the CC and looks really nice. Not cheap, but I was willing to pay extra for convenience! The units look super cute and the neighborhood is nice.. it’s pretty residential, but restaurants are walkable distance. What part of the city will y’all be living in?

@amazinggrace can I ask whereabouts youre living? I dont know the area very well so I am just trying to gauge what part of the city to even look in! And thank you @haleyc522 I will check that out!

I looked in the Capitol Hill and First Hill neighborhoods.

@McKinleemay I also looked in the First Hill area. There were a lot of options and I think it may be a little cheaper than Cap Hill. However, I wanted something a little less urban and quieter, but still close to the fun stuff.. so I went with Central District/Cherry Hill. Also, here is the website for the place across from the hospital.. it wasn't advertised very well online and I randomly came across it: lifeatcc.com

Has anyone received their "clear to start" e-mail or an e-mail with instructions for the HR meeting on Monday from the preboarding team yet? I have completed all of the paperwork requirements but am still waiting on this e-mail to come through and getting a little nervous since it's only a few days away!

Hey! I am a psych nurse at Swedish Edmonds who got hired in the August 2020 cohort. I am in my last week of my 12 week med-surg residency. Any questions that I can help people with? I remember the process all too well! Ask me anything ?

How does everyone liking their experience at Swedish so far if don't mind sharing?

@madeline125 Hi! I know this is an old post, but I'm a student graduating in May. Looking to apply for the August residency and would like to start in psych.

How is it going for you? You did 12 weeks of med/surg orientation for a psych position? Was anyone in your cohort hired with an ADN?

Any info is appreciated! Thanks!

Any updates from nurses who have done this residency? I'm really curious about ED and ICU positions!
