  1. Has anyone received their "clear to start" e-mail or an e-mail with instructions for the HR meeting on Monday from the preboarding team yet? I have completed all of the paperwork requirements but am still waiting on this e-mail to come through and getting a little nervous since it's only a few days away!
  2. Oh and I forgot to mention that I personally studied A LOT for the reading and writing sections using the TEAS book which I did find to be helpful, mostly for the writing section. I am not naturally good in either of these areas so I personally knew I needed to study for them, if I hadn't I would not have gotten a great score.
  3. Hi everyone! I am currently in the NAU ABSN program alongside Cpt ATP and thought I would share another perspective. I came from a non-science background, with a first degree and career in accounting/finance so I had to take a bunch of pre-requisites before applying. I had the advantage of finishing up A&P II a couple weeks before taking the Kaplan, but I still studied my a** off for that test. I studied consistently for about two months specifically prepping for the different nursing entrance exams I had to take (I was applying to multiple programs), probably studying at least 10 hours a week. I used the following to help me with my studies: 1. TEAS exam prep book - this honestly helped me the most with prepping for the Kaplan even though it was for a different test. I worked through the entire book multiple times. 2. Youtube videos from other students that recently took the Kaplan - I found this INCREDIBLY helpful because I found a few videos in which students would outright say what questions were on their exam. I knew I wouldn't see the same questions as them, but I did see very similar questions and these videos gave me an idea of what to focus on. Here is a link: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=nursing+entrance+exam+preparation+kaplan 3. The Kaplan Entrance Exam Book - I did open up this book, but I used it mostly to study for the science portion. I did not think this was a good representation of the reading or writing sections of the actual Kaplan test. 4. Reviewed my A&P notes - I took what I learned in the youtube videos and focused my A&P studies around the areas those students encountered on the Kaplan. I am not the best standardized test taker, and coming from a non-science background I knew I really had to prep for the test. I'm glad I did, I was able to pull off a high enough score overall and specifically on the science portion to get into the program. For your reference I got an 85% on the science portion and a 92% overall.
  4. @NurseGorder Check the FB Group! There is a BBQ happening tomorrow for the ABSN students
  5. @ACAZ92 & @periodicgeek Thanks for the input! You guys convinced me, I just ordered the classic III!
  6. Do any of you know what you are going to do for your stethoscope? I can't decide between the Littman S.E II Lightweight and the Littman Classsic III
  7. @ACAZ92 I just PM'd you ?
  8. @KlcorbThank you! I found it, I wasn't checking my NAU email.
  9. Has anyone received their Typhoon login instructions yet? Sharon told me a few weeks ago she was going to send them out in the next week, but I haven't received any email yet. The only communication I have received from them was the admissions decision so far.
  10. I am in! I'm so happy they didn't keep us waiting ? I can't wait to meet everyone else!
  11. Ahhh I wonder when we are going to hear! Two years ago letters were emailed out on 02/08, but last year it was near the 02/20. It could be any day!
  12. @ACAZ92 I PM'd you! Thank you for offering up some information ?
  13. Hey Fellow Prospective Students! I am applying as well for this cycle. I got my first undergrad degree from NAU and I absolutely adore Flagstaff. I am really hoping I get in - my GPA is a 3.86, I scored a 90% on the Kaplan, and an 80% in science which I am a tad worried about!
