SUNY Downstate ABSN 2023-2024

I've started this thread so those who are applying or applied for the SUNY Downstate ABSN 2023 can talk about the process, acceptance, information etc. I haven't seen anyone talking about this cycle of applications which is making me super nervous so hopefully some of you are out there and want to discuss what's going on.

There are two approved ways to create a special place for your cohort.

One: create a facebook page. This link may be posted.

Two: Premium members may create a "club" by clicking on the Breakroom link in the yellow bar to the left of this page. Then click on "Create A New Club" in the green bar at the top of the page, and follow instructions.

References to other than these two avenues will be moved from view, to comply with the Terms of Service.

I just submitted my application. I wanted to know how long it took for the school to reach out or for the status of the application to change? Thank you!!

I was looking at my app status today (still waiting for an interview) and I noticed they changed the deadline to Feb 28th. Does that mean like not enough people had applied by the deadline? I know they did it last year too.

I saw that this morning too. They also changed it to Feb 28th on their website. Im also assuming not enough people applied. Hopefully that gives everyone else a better chance.

Sure!

I was accepted today.

  • Applied on 01/17/2022 without my TEAS score.
  • Submitted my scores on 01/24.
  • Application was forwarded to the program on 01/25.
  • Received a call on 01/27 to schedule an interview, which was held on 01/31.
  • Received my decision 02/01/2022.

Hi everyone! I found this forum as I have my interview tomorrow! I submitted my application on 1/28. I am nervous but excited about the interview, I have never had a professional interview before. Does anyone have any tips or what I should focus on in preparation for tomorrow?

I submitted my application on 1/28 and I was notified my application was forward to the ABSN program on 1/31. I received my call today for my interview tomorrow! Best of luck!

Hey you can read previous post in this thread, some interview tips were given. They ask everyone to not give out interview questions so I'll respect that but definitely be yourself. They have a very holistic approach to accepting people. Make sure you remember what you wrote on your essay and any of the questions you answered on the application bc they might bring that up to try and get to know you better. Definitely ask questions at the end of the interview. They love to see that you're interested in the program. Goodluck!

I had my interview today too! I'm sure you did great don't overthink it! I heard we should hear our decision by the end of the week! fingers crossed.
