Hi everyone,
I've started this thread so we can discuss and share our experiences applying to SUNY's ABSN program for 2020. This is my second time applying. I waited till the very last day of the deadline to submit my application last year (I knowww) since I had taken the TEAS and had just gotten the results. However, I've already submitted my application for the upcoming year and hope to get a call for an interview. Looking forward to chatting with you all.
Sidenote: I really like the upgrade they did to the online application. So much more user-friendly.
Has anyone heard if they are still accepting students?
I applied in November. Finishing my last prereq of APII now. I have all A's and met TEAS requirements, with good recos.
Haven't been called for an interview or even notified of alternate list.
Feels like I should know something by now.

I emailed them today because I also haven't received an interview request, a rejection letter, or anything pertaining to my application. I also applied in November, have all A's, and have an excellent TEAS score. I am just taking Microbiology this semester.

WOW!, well glad I'm not alone in this. We really should know by now as the semester starts in 3 weeks!

I agree. I don't know if this is good or bad news for us. But they answered my email and said I'm at the point in the process where I could be interviewed if I am granted an interview. I am just confused as the semester is starting so soon and they have had my application for 6 months.
I don’t think they send out rejection letters. I also heard that they don’t get to go through all of the applications, so even if your grades are incredible they may not have the ability to see that. I heard that they are still interviewing though. I also know people who’ve gotten in really last minute. Good luck!

I just got a call for an interview. I am in shock!

I was also sent an email for the alternative list. That's very frustrating to say the least. But you're right, it is what it is. I guess we at least got interviews but it really got my hopes up too. I don't want to spend the next two-three weeks wondering if I'll get into a program a week or even a day before it starts... That's crazy! Well good luck to all of you.

LOL. Downstate rejected me and offered the admission in Master of Public Health program. I wish there was a way to transfer to nursing somehow if I accept the offer. ?
