Hi everyone,
I've started this thread so we can discuss and share our experiences applying to SUNY's ABSN program for 2020. This is my second time applying. I waited till the very last day of the deadline to submit my application last year (I knowww) since I had taken the TEAS and had just gotten the results. However, I've already submitted my application for the upcoming year and hope to get a call for an interview. Looking forward to chatting with you all.
Sidenote: I really like the upgrade they did to the online application. So much more user-friendly.
I was placed on the alternate list last year. They never even gave me an official rejection. I just assumed after the first week of classes that I wasn't accepted. Truly a mess. I'd say call and email asking for a decision up until classes begin so you know where you stand. I did re-apply this year (nothing in my application changed except some more volunteer experience) and was immediately called for an interview (early January) and was ultimately accepted.
@Amy Vasquez Classes start on the 27th. There are so many things they ask of students to do before registering so yeah it’s very late to be put on the alt list, but you never know! Everything is online this semester though, so people may drop out last minute realizing it’s too much.

I haven't heard anything. I'll be attending a community college's program as I can't afford private school ABSN programs and don't wish to take a gamble for next cycle. Good luck to everyone!

Best of luck to you as well! FYI, although private school tuition is much higher, you can qualify for public service loan forgiveness (if you work for a specific type of employer such as a hospital or 501c3, etc. and have a federal direct loan - unsubsidized or PLUS) after 10 years so it ends up being just about the same out of pocket price as a public school (assuming you net present value the dollar amount paid).

Hey Guys. So my application says forwarded to the program for review but I still have two classes that they told me last Summer I can take CLEP exams for but there is a message that says " proof of registration of class needed" does anyone know if this prolongs them from viewing my application? Or anyone have the same issue. Still says forwarded to the program for review though.

Send them proof of your registration ticket for taking your exam. If accepted, you’ll have a deadline for when you can take the exam and send your scores.

I wonder if they called us all to interview late because they were worried people were going to drop out of the program due to the virus so they wanted more alternates. I honestly feel disrespected by all this. I would have rather not been interviewed at all and not get my hopes up 6 months after applying.
