  1. Hey everyone ? I started a Suffolk FB group page for those in the evening program for SCCC. Come join! www.facebook.com/groups/219363116319983/
  2. I was also sent an email for the alternative list. That's very frustrating to say the least. But you're right, it is what it is. I guess we at least got interviews but it really got my hopes up too. I don't want to spend the next two-three weeks wondering if I'll get into a program a week or even a day before it starts... That's crazy! Well good luck to all of you.
  3. Me too. Still waiting. Fingers crossed!
  4. How long did the Program Review take for everyone? And if they are interested in you, the next step is then to wait for an interview?
  5. I get the impression they have no rhyme or reason to whom they select. I have a 3.9 Science GPA and 3.6 overall. I am currently a CNA and have great letters of rec as well. The one area I lack in maybe is that my background is in Psychology? (I understand a lot of applicants have Bio or Chem backgrounds...) and I have little to no medical related community service (I hear Stony is big on that). But I have also worked full time since I graduated college in place of that, of which most places were somewhat medical related until I became a CNA/PCA. Though I don't think that counts as anything. I was interviewed for the accelerated program but didn't get in. As of now, I do not think I'm getting an interview for the 2 year. I haven't gotten an email and I submitted my app the week they allowed applications. Very frustrating to say the least! Looking back, applying and waiting for all of these programs is becoming expensive and more than stressful to wait for!!! Happy for all that got interviews! My interview for the accelerated had the math and essay portion as well. The essay is simple and mainly a reflection on yourself/your own experience toward whatever general question they ask: just make sure to be mindful of their directions on font, spacing, etc. I felt I had more than enough time for the essay. The math was basic algebra, about 20 questions maybe? A sheet of paper, front and back, open answer. Although I studied for this, I didn't feel completely confident because I haven't done most of this math since high school! Truthfully, I left 3 blank because I couldn't come down to a definite answer. As for the interview, it was before any of the written testing. It was very calm and relaxed. There were 3 other interviewees with me and they did not go in order with every question. They randomly selected us to answer the same question. I thought that was great. The interviewers were SO, SO kind! I would just be honest in your response. They do not ask any crazy complex questions. They are generally just trying to get to know you, why you want this, and what you can bring to the table in their program. Good luck!
  6. Do they only do one wave of emails in one day for interviews? And they don't say you were rejected for an interview right? >.<
  7. Hi all :) Is anyone still submitting their application because of missing requirements? If so, is anyone having issues with their letters of rec? My application is complete besides this, and the MOST trouble I have had is with my LORs getting submitted properly. I have a few, but sending them through a professional email seems to be an absolute struggle for most of my recommenders lol (mainly because they told me they simply don't use their professional emails). I got one recommender to send it over correctly but for another to do so is seemingly impossible. I also received an email from admissions today stating that a missing requirement is that I need a LOR from a Science Professor? But the online requirements state " Your letters should be written by a current/former College Science Professor OR an employer/supervisor, OR another college professor." So why can't I use two employers/supervisors? I finished my science prerequisites almost a year ago. I feel like getting a letter of recommendation from one of those professors at this point wouldn't work. Does anyone mind sharing where their LORs are from?? I'm freaking out because this is such a simple requirement I am missing and time is very limited!!
  8. Not sure if you anyone already knew, but the Accelerated Program was very delayed as well. They sent out emails stating they were backed up in their paperwork. I'd assume the same thing is happening here, although not sure why they wouldn't send out another mass email if that were the case. ? Good luck all!
  9. Hey all! Since they extended the application date, what does this exactly mean? I am finishing my application now, pending taking the TEAS next week. Since people were already accepted into the program, whom applied much earlier, are my chances any more slim than they would have originally been? I'm just confused on that process of extending the date when they've already held most of their interviews ? Did they state how long they were holding interviews for? Sorry, I haven't read this entire thread, I only recently joined it! Thank you & good luck to all! ?
  10. @NurseDan That's awesome. This is my next hope. I am finishing my application because they extended the deadline. Did you have a physical interview? How did you do on the TEAS? (if you don't mind me asking!) Thanks! ?
  11. @lobo92 @mmmc32 I just applied for the TEAS exam for January 24th. I may even apply to one more before that so I have some more room to take it again. I also just checked out UMass for which I have all the prerequisites. I don't mind out of state if it is an accelerated program but I don't necessarily want to do that. Their deadline is January 15 so I should have enough time to get another recommendation letter by then!! Thank you both so much, I appreciate it!!
  12. Thank you, I started my application there but stopped because I had never taken the TEAS. Do you think I still have time to take them? I probably could with little study time. How many times can you take the TEAS and do you know if all scores are sent to schools regardless if you choose?
  13. I was accepted into Pace and LIU but they are both so expensive. Pace's one year is $70k and I don't believe that was with any type of living costs. I also still have undergrad loans so it really doesn't seem like the best plan. Did anyone take the TEAS? Did you take practice exams or a refresher course?
  14. Damn, received my rejection letter too. No wait list for me. Sucks but at least I am not waiting any longer I guess. SBU was my top choice. I got into my other schools but the tuition makes me rather just wait to apply/get into a lower cost school eventually and hopefully sooner than later. I applied to the two year program the same time I applied for this one. I don't even want to get my hopes up thinking I may get into that one, lol. Anyone with rejections, what are your plans now?? Where else did you apply and are you going accept another school or apply more? Also, good luck to everyone who got in. You'll do great! It'll be well worth it!!! ?
