I was approved to attend "Hot Topics in Pediatrics" this summer, but it appears to be geared more toward doctors.
I was told I could choose another conference instead. Any suggestions for a WV nurse? I need to decide ASAP.
Thanks!!!

There's the NASN conference in Baltimore this year at the end of June/beginning of July - NASN218 - NASN 218 Conference. But may still be a bit of drive for you.
Are you going?
I was going to, but then ended up buying my first home recently and the timing is just too chaotic this year. Plus the cost was much then anticipated for my school. BUT, they did say they would consider me attending next year.

Oh, this is my dream. One of the schools I applied for sends their nurses to the NASN conference every other year.
If you don't find another one, you should still go to Hot Topics. With the primary care focus, I'm sure there is plenty of info to be gleaned!

That's nice! I wish our district did that or least paid for the conference. We are on our own to find 12 hours of summer professional development that we need to pay for out of our pockets.
It's a VERY wealthy district. It's also pretty small, so less than 10 nurses in the whole district. I imagine I'll have to pay out of pocket to go to conferences for any of the other districts I applied for.

There is one in Boston I am looking at, can't find the info right now, but it's specific for pediatric out of hospital emergencies. I will be staying over.
