Goes to the 49 yo male who came in by AMBULANCE- C/C? He was cleaning his ear, and got some q-tip FLUFF stuck in his ear.At 0430 am......REALLY??? Of course a Medicade cab to go home in as well....our tax $ at work!

It was the personal vehicle part. I knew no ER nurse on the plane would be that stupid!

People are people. Many people are not nurses. Some do not have proper education on some situations and sometimes they panic and feel like they're going to die. A patient came to us in the ER because of a painful ingrown on his left big toe.no ischemia, no necrosis, just a painful toe. It was sad, because the patient considered it as an emergency. But hey, sometimes some things happen and someday a toe might kill a human being. Lol

I understand that some people mistake non-emergencies for emergencies. It is easy to do that. But I bet the people having to shell out a $250 co-pay per ER visit (like myself) make fewer of those mistakes.

The problem is, people like me tend to stay home when we should be at the ER.

Oh wow! I had a young female come in the other night with the EXACT SAME complaint! At least she had the sense not to come by ambulance though.

Gunners Mate now RN? nice switch. at least your q tip patient came in before his sever otittis requiring admission racked up 20k dollars and passed that on to tax payers. lot of dumb people out there, it's crazy crazy. let's move on to a more interesting subject like coffee quality and additives.

my husband was hospitalized yesterday. he's in isolation and stuck on bedrest with his foot and leg elevated. he's being given iv morphine q2 and is fuzzy, to say the least.

his complaint when he just called me? gravity makes using a urinal in that particular position impossible!:eek:

two very nice nurses cleaned up without laughing or even cracking smiles, he reported.:D
