Studyguide 101 content

Hi, just wondering for those of you who used studyguide101...does the content match EC's content guides? For example, EC's guide goes over impairment of blood vessels (HTN, PVD, AAA, etc)...does the studyguide101 go into all of those as well? I am deciding whether to go with studyguide101 or make my own outlines... Thanks =)

Hey Lunah, I saw in one of your other replies that you also agree that a text book or 2 especially the Fundamental's Of Nursing is a much better resourse supply than just the notes from the Online sites....

Yep. The difference for me wasn't that I didn't just want to pass, I wanted to keep my GPA high! I got a B on NC1 (now called Health Safety) using Chancellor's and notes, and that wasn't good enough for me. I pulled out the fundamentals book for NC2 (Health Differences), and got an A. In doing so, I found the way to study that worked for me, and it included textbooks and notes. I got straight A's on the rest of the nursing exams after that. :) GPA matters these days ...

I still feel sg101 can get you that. perhaps the tests are different than years ago when you guys took it, or perhaps the sg101 content is. at any rate, I've been slamming sg101 on LS2 and LS3 a little bit because I got B's on those exams...but those were the only ones. of course, glory to God first and foremost.

I just finished lacharity chapter for health safety.I finished the ATI book which have alot of topics on fundamental of Nursing which is what i think health safety is all about after taking the two exams stupidly before receiving ATT,and zero study. Now i don't know if i should wait for the saunders or go take the exam at this point after reviewing my flashcards that i did for NLCEXPN.What do you ladies and gentlemen think?I am always like this until i take the first exam and am like "Oh i can do this".Thanks in advance for your input.

Some of us just finished the program :)It all boils down to what works for the individual & their study needs. Some will make with notes, others need to do things via the more traditional route (including the practice exams) like me.

Did you try the EC practice exams yet, and if so, how did you feel about those?

If you haven't figured this out by my numerous postings, I'm a little OCD when it comes to studying ... i.e., I'm going to study every resource upon which I can lay my hands. :) Granted, SG101 did not exist beyond LS1 when I was testing -- they were still in development. However, I am a big fan of their stuff -- always have been. I just also didn't feel comfortable putting all my study eggs in one basket.

Hey Lunah...do you realize we just got called "old" LOL!

Thanks for that. Lisa Arands is a Hoax. She is reselling others material and takes the credit. Then her celebrity status as a writer is a bloax when she scares people into thinking she has a copy write to the material.

Thanks!

FYI-Lisa Arend's does have some original notes and they are relevant so I can't take that away from her. However the added materials that she got from other sourses and then organized them. I can't say her materials are a hoax...however I can say that what she has can be found for free on the other study sites.

I use SG101 as well as my HUGE med-surg book and my own notes. I also find that taking the practice exams and going over ALL of the questions and answers/rationals with a fine tooth comb is very helpful. I have LS2-3 left and I plan to use SG101 as well as NCLEX RN review and my med-surg book.

I just sent in my request to join the Yahoo group. I'm trying to find out more info about SG101 everyone keeps talking about and how I purchase this? I know I'm new and this is probably very old information but I've looked and so far just keep seeing it talked about but not where to find out how to get it.
