ugh, i am working on some major poundage and am looking for other nursing students who understand the concept of STRESS eating! -----------------------------------:uhoh3:

anywho, i am on weight watchers and have lost over 40 pounds--with more to go. any takers? we can keep track of each other. i have three semesters left and my 34th birthday in in october--i want to lose about 20 pounds before my b-day and i want to look good in my whites at pinning! :)

hello to all my fellow sufferers! i have one year left and definitely have packed on some poundage over the last 3 years! stress and boredome, combined with eating out too much due to a busy schedule are my main enemies. has anyone lost weight by just starting a gym membership? ok starting and actually going! lol i'm bad with dieting, but i don't exercise, so i'm hoping that if i become more physically active, then i'll lose some weight. anybody else try this theory? oh and to the poster about the lipton citrus green tea - have you read how many grams of sugar are in that thing? i had one for the first time the other day, tasted great, then i read the ingredients! ugh. oh well. lt

I've lost weight in the past by just going to the gym and watching what I eat. I joined a gym that's literally right around the corner from school, and as soon as I get back home in July (visiting family right now) I plan on getting my but in there. Funny thing I've noticed about the gym.......just joining doesn't drop the pounds as I'd hoped:roll . I'm not doing WW, just watching what I eat and exercising.

Me too!!! I need to drop about 30 pounds. I really need to get back into shape before clinicals start in August. I am really afraid that I am going to hurt myself lifting and moving patients, so I want to strengthen all those muscles! I have just started the Body for Life for Women program, which involves both diet and exercise. I am a major stress eater, so I hope I can stick to it! I love chocolate and ice cream!!

I've been doing WW Core since Oct. 2004...all through pre-reqs (I lost weight durring Anatomy when most people gained). I start nursing school in Aug. So far I've lost 107 lbs! One of my inspirations to finaly start is writing an essay on self care for the direct entry masters nursing program I applied to. I did not get into that program (they only took 13 students), but I'm still living much healthier, and taking care of myself. I am not sure if I'm going to try to continue losing, or if I just want to start maintaining then. I'd like to lose another 15-20 lbs before maintaining, and to get to WW goal I'd have to lose another 53...ugh! We'll see what happens in Aug. as the stress of nursing school starts.

You're an inspiration to me! Great job on your loss!!!!!! I don't plan to get to WW's goal for me, I'd look anorexic at that weight. But I've still got about 70 to lose. My big reason for losing weight is so that I'll be here for my kids (ages 11 and 5) 20 years from now. I'm afraid of having a heart attack, or diabetes, or any of the myriad of health problems facing me if I don't get this weight off. I can't believe I lost during school, just wish I could stick to the plan better this summer. As of right now, I'm recommitting myself, thanks to all on this thread who are willing to share their struggles, and listen to me share mine!

:yelclap: :yelclap: :yelclap: OMG! You are my new thinspiration!!!!!! WAY TO GO! :yelclap: :yelclap: :yelclap:

I am really trying to do this good this summer. We have a break from nursing classes from June 30- Aug 15. I want to go back noticably lighter in August. I also have my 10 year class reunion in September - not sure if I'm going or not, but I still have that as a goal date for 15 lbs. I decided to think of that this way - I only need to lose 6.8 kg. Seems much simpler to lose 6.8 kg than 15 lbs!!!! That's not all I need to lose, but that's where I want to be in September.

I weigh in tomarrow wish me luck. This week was so hard. I think I eat more when I am a little stressed and we started Micro in the last two weeks so.... Guess you could see why I ate too much this week lol.

Wow, first of all congrats to those of you who have lost weight!

And heck yes I need to lose a few pounds myself :( EVERYONE in my family has diabetes and my fasting blood sugar is in the pre-diabetic stage so I seriously need to lose and keep my weight down. I LOVE to eat though!

For now I have been working out about 5 days a week at the gym and trying to make better food choices and drink more water. Tomorrow I'm probably not going to go to the gym but am taking my girls to the zoo and then going swimming so I think that should count. I feel guilty for not actually going to the gym though :(

I still have my old WW stuff so I may go back on that. I tend to get obsessive about diets though so Im not sure. Have ya'll been to http://www.dwlz.com It's an awesome site for those of you who do WW!

I start nursing school in the fall. I'm 5'7" and weight about 190 (jesus how did I get here?!). I would like to drop between 10-15 pounds before school starts and then go from there once school starts.

well guys, i figure the summer is a good time to get into the habit before fall classes kick our butts. congrats to those of you who have lost it, and to those of us that need to get on/stay on track, well, lets just do it!

you guys want to see what i have eaten today? here goes:

32 oz h2o

2 diet pepsi

1 egg

1 english muffin

1 piece ff cheese

2 whole wheat homemade blueberry muffins

1 bean burrito wrap thing

1 pt fudge bar

11 points so far...i find if i cook at home i lose much more weight--so this fall will be a challenge as i wont have as much time! if you guys want my muffin recipe let me know and i'll post it! :)

that would be great if you would share your recipe. tia

oh yeah...I gained 15pounds this past semester! I'm a ww veteran as well, I lost 40 pounds with them a few years ago and it is the only weight loss program that has ever worked for me.......when they say that the pounds just creep up on you in nursing school they aren't kidding! At our school we were required to wear our uniforms 4 days a week which was the worse thing I could have done. At the beginning of the semester my scrubs were loose and comfortable, guess how they fit now? :uhoh3: By the time they started getting tight on me the 15 pounds were already on......

this time around I'm trying ww online to save a little money. I attended meetings for about 4 years so I pretty much have the program down. I've lost 5 pounds in 3 weeks. If I don't see more results then I'll start attending meetings again. I'm also doing the core program. I'm a fruit lover and core is so easy for me to do during the summertime.....

no doubt about it for me nursing school was very fatting, i managed to gain 25 pounds! aghhhhhhhhhhhh! i was in really good shape when i started school 2 years ago i had been lifting weights, exercising, walking, and eating right, my stomach was flat, my arms didn't contribute to the flappers club and i didn't belong to the thunder thigh group either. my medium frame body @ 5' 5" and 125 pounds was feeling really great. right before i started nursing school i also had major surgery-major for me- i had a total hysterectomy then returned to school 10 days post-op, i had obstacles but after 2 years i can't blame all my extra blubber on all that now... i just need to get motivated and make it happen again, thanks for starting the thread and the encouraging posters who are losing.

Can I join???

I lost 33 lbs on WW 2 years ago but right afterwards got pregnant with #3. So I was up 15 from the pregnancy and now I'm back on WW again. Ugg. I'm down 7 (as of last weigh in) I have the other 8 to go and then I still needed at least another 15-20.

I'd like to be 145. Is that too much to ask??? ARRGGHH !!! it is so hard and frustrating. Especially with school! This would be great for all of us if we could support each other! Good luck everyone!
