Hi, I just graduated may 11, with 20 lbs more than I started with. I took my nclex on Monday, and have not recieved results yet, so needless to say I have unconciously been stuffing my mouth. What weight watchers program have you been doing? How have you managed to stick to it and what tips do you have to stay on track? Congratulations, 40 lbs is a great accomplishment.
hey chippy--
I am doing ww Flex--the best thing to do is follow the program, WRITE DOWN everything you eat, and drink LOTS of H2o. It is the only plan I have ever had lasting success on. No, I dont work for them, LOL! And I hate exercising, but I try to do some of that here and there. If you want to get the weight of in a healthy way, I would recommend WW.
Good luck--get the 20 off now before it gets to be more!

I tried WW back in October, I tried again in January. In May I even paid for the season pass! Now it's been 6 weeks since my last meeting. I've really struggled with it. My weight is way to high and I hate feeling winded after climbing a flight of stairs. So I'm working on it again. When I started nursing school last month my teacher brought in a whole bunch of desserts the second night of class as part of an object lesson for fun - she brought desserts because it is stressed spelled backwards and we are nursing students, thus we are stressed. When I said I only wanted a small piece of cake because I was dieting she said "what? You're dieting DURING nursing school?" Yup, I am. I have successfully weaned myself from my sodas by switching to those new bottles of Diet Lipton Green Tea with Citris. It is sooo good. I drink a few bottles of that each day, plus about 4 more of water and trying to control my calories. I've now lost 5 lbs. Only about 45 more to go!
Keep up the good work!

I get started on WW on Monday! I too need to lose some serious poundage before graduation so that I will actually look at the pictures afterward!! Honestly, it would be nice to also be able to walk/run the hallways of the hospital without needing supplemental oxygen!
I plan on doing the points system. By nature or habit I am a binge eater whenever bored, stressed, or awake:lol2: so I don't think that flex will work for me. Obviously I don't get the meaning of eat until you are satisfied or I wouldn't be in this predicament.

I'm not a student anymore, but I did lose weight while in school. Halfway through school I had gained 10 lbs and I had enough, I used the info in my nutrition book/class, and started going to the gym every day as soon as I left school before I could go home, no excuses. If I had a ton of homework I might just do 20 min of cardio, but tried to do 30 min of cardio and weight training 3 times a week. I lost about 20 lbs and looked great in my graduation pics, plus I felt better, less headaches, no more pain in my knees after being on my feet all day, and nothing beats going for the medium scrubs instead of large or XL. I also felt like I was healthier and that was a good thing b/c I felt since it's my job to promote health, being healther is a plus. I ate a lot of grilled chicken and fish, veggies, salads, fruits, and drank a lot of water. I didn't do WW but the WW meals at Applebee's were delicious and I got those when we went out for lunch (there was an applebee's a few buildings down from my school). Just don't let the stress get to you and become an excuse for cheating (and I know from experience that's VERY easy to do.)

Go for it! I need to lose about 50 lbs myself. I'm one of those who gets started great, for about a couple of weeks, and then something happens to disrupt my routine. I can never seem to get back in the swing once it's been disrupted. I would like to lose at least 10 lbs before school starts this fall, though. I guess it's back to gym!

I started WW again. I do it on my own because I have the books and the pointsfinder. My best friend is on it and she has lost 10+ pounds already. We are in Microbiology this summer so we haven't even started the stressful nursing classes until August. I get up every morning at 3:45 am and go to the gym. That is my best time. I just love food too much so I have to really watch my portions. Good luck to everyone.

this all sounds so familair. last Dec. i weighed 10lbs less than i do one semester into the program. the instructors warned us that we might gain weight while in nursing school. and it just kinda creeps up on you. and i too am an emotional eater. its like cant drink, smoke, whole list of other things bad for you..so i'll just eat when i am stressed!!!!

I'm on WW since Feb. I've lost about 25 lbs so far, but have been stuck at the same weight for the past few weeks. Need to get my butt in gear if I'm going to lose the remaining 30 lbs or so.
Well guys, I figure the summer is a good time to get into the habit before Fall classes kick our butts. Congrats to those of you who have lost it, and to those of us that need to get on/stay on track, well, lets just do it!
You guys want to see what I have eaten today? Here goes:
32 oz H2O
2 diet pepsi
1 egg
1 english muffin
1 piece Ff cheese
2 whole wheat homemade blueberry muffins
1 bean burrito wrap thing
1 pt fudge bar
11 points so far...I find if I cook at home I lose much more weight--so this fall will be a challenge as I wont have as much time! If you guys want my muffin recipe let me know and I'll post it! :)

Me, me!!! I've been on WW online flex points since Jan. I lost 22 lbs between Jan and the end of school on May 14. However, summer and vacation have been bad for me, I've put almost 10 back on. I need to get back on track. I'm only taking one class this summer, which leaves me with way too much time on my hands. I'm a boredom eater, and during school when I'm not at home all the time, I do fine. Desperately need to get back on track! Good luck to all who are working so hard at this. It's a tough struggle.
