Struggling - its not fair.

If there is one thing I have learned in my short time as a school nurse, its that there are some exceptional parents out there raising kind, sweet, level-headed kids. Yesterday, one of those Mom's had a sudden brain aneurysm and was rushed into surgery. She died today. Two of her three kids are in classes with my own. I sat next to her at ball games in the summer. We shared snacks and cheered for our kids. We were the moms who went on field trips. Why?? Why does she not get to kiss her kids good night tonite?? Why do they have to grow up without her? I'm just sick.

So sorry. Life sucks sometimes. Let yourself feel everything, you deserve it. Praying for yours and her family. Tough time of year to get through.

Be sure, while you're taking care of the children today and in the immediate future, that you're also taking care of yourself.

I feel better after our staff meeting this morning. So much help going to the students! I also found out she was an organ donor and will likely be saving many lives. That gives me a little comfort. We have a winter storm coming our way. I am hoping for a snow day so I can snuggle with my babies on the couch under some blankets and watch movies all day :)

We are plugging along, thanks for asking. The funeral is this weekend, so haven't had much closure or anything. Her son is in my daughters class and they are planning on going as a group for support. Her poor class - last year they lost a classmate and had to attend their friends funeral, now they are going again. I feel so bad for them. And each day that passes I can't help but think what my own kids would do if they lost me... And how much Trisha wanted to be there for hers. Just so sad.

We lost a mom last year to cancer. It was so fast.The younger daughter is one of The Kid's best friends.
