Hi all,
Thought I'd start a thread here so we can connect. I am in the process of taking my pre-reqs and plan to submit my application by the Oct 2019 deadline for the Summer 2020 start.
I'm planning on attending the Sept 19 info session on campus - anyone else going?
So here is the waitlist info I received .. they will not send out a list or let you know where you are on the list. I was told to accept any offers I have received from other institutions because no spots are guaranteed. Also finish any outstanding requirements needed for SB. The waitlist will become active in May. We can expect a call at any time if a spot opens.
So I’m going to a different school that I was accepted to because I don’t want to wait.....good luck all
Hi everyone! I also got accepted into the program. Congratulations to those who did as well! I completed my first degree at Stony Brook last year, so if you have any questions about the school/area I can do my best to answer ?
@NurseHopeful2021 I’m from out of state and plan on moving to the area as well

I work in the city. I am wondering if working would be a problem and I don't want to imagine how my commute would be. I am applying to jobs that have 12hr shifts, which I think that would allow me to have more time to study than eight-hour shifts.

Unfortunately, I have to work in order to get tuition reimbursement.

There are on-campus dorms and apartments, but they will most likely be on Stony Brook's main campus. You can walk to the Health Science Center or take the bus from main campus housing. A lot of people also live off-campus. There are apartments you can rent that are fairly close, but you can also rent houses with other people/students, which is definitely cheaper. I've seen people rent in Stony Brook, Lake Grove, Port Jeff, Selden, Coram, Setauket etc.
