Hi all,

Thought I'd start a thread here so we can connect. I am in the process of taking my pre-reqs and plan to submit my application by the Oct 2019 deadline for the Summer 2020 start.

I'm planning on attending the Sept 19 info session on campus - anyone else going?

Undergrad Double Major in Biology & Chemistry

Undergrad GPA: 3.86

Prereqs GPA don't know exactly but somewhere between 3.7-4.0

Medical Assistant for 2 years

Medical Scribe for 1 year

Volunteer EMS for 1.5 years

I’m waitlisted/“alternate list” too. I interviewed on 11/1 and got my email an hour ago.

Now I’m just wondering if I should hold on to hope about someone else declining and getting a spot or moving on?

There is a new program director and I heard she wants to change things up. Not needing perfect GPA etc....

Yeah, that’s what others have said in this forum too. I’ve been reading the posts since October, but never posted ?

My undergrad GPA was 3.94

Pre-reqs: 4.0

My only medical experience was 4 years in pharm.

Part of me wants to call to see if they have an ETA of when waitlisted people will possibly hear of open spots, but I’m sure they’re inundated with calls about acceptances/rejections/etc.

Looking at your guys's stats, I would never think that I'd have a shot. I applied with a 3.4 undergrad GPA and my pre-req GPA, at best, would be a 3.6ish. The only experiences I have medical-related is 1.5 years as a pharm tech and two months in an urgent care. I also volunteered for a few months at Stony Brook Hospital. My stats really don't compare to some of yours so I was shocked and humbled to have been accepted yesterday.

@jess5 @slorte I was able to login by clicking "SOLAR account & password help" underneath the login. From there it gives you directions to reset your password. Maybe give that a shot? It took me one or two tries but it worked!

Same here! Definitely was a little confusing but it worked in the end

Is anyone who got an acceptance not from the area, and is planning to move on to campus or around the school?

you can get a better idea by asking an accepted student for the final date on acceptance deposits. Everyone accepted must reply with their $$$$ by a certain date. Good Luck!!!

They aren't looking for the perfect unblemished GPA student with the volunteer history of a saint anymore.
