StonyBrook ABSN: Class of 2021

Hi all,

Thought I'd start a thread here so we can connect. I am in the process of taking my pre-reqs and plan to submit my application by the Oct 2019 deadline for the Summer 2020 start.

I'm planning on attending the Sept 19 info session on campus - anyone else going?

When I spoke to the office, they seemed pretty adamant that it would be early January. And I asked if they could tell me if acceptances were being sent out last like they were in previous years and they just kept saying “...all I can tell you is that you’ll be notified in early January.”

Luckily January is next week... but I still believe there is a chance we could find out this week. Binghamton's office says acceptances will go out January/February and I got my acceptance December 5th... I think the office gives you the latest possible time that they will send decisions.

That's what I heard, that they tell you the latest just in case they need more time but it rarely takes that long. I hope that's the case. I would say if we don't hear today though probably next week.

I won't lie, today is probably the most anxious I have been waiting/hoping for decisions since this process started. I really do not want to wait until after the holidays to find out!!!

Me neither. But I don't think it's going to be today. I feel like they would send it out in the morning

You never know!! I don't remember who it was but they said when they were accepted last year they got the e-mail in the afternoon/evening... so there is still hope!!

I have a feeling it’s going to be next week. I feel like it’s so ridiculous that they made decisions already and are waiting to release them

Yeah I agree, I was just trying to hold out hope that it could be released before the holidays... but now that it is officially after 5:00pm I do not see that happening anymore lol

It can officially be any day now. I’m still so upset that they haven’t sent out rejections yet. The whole reason why they’ve been sending them out first the last few years is because people complained that they needed to know whether or not to accept offers from other schools. This is so frustrating.

I interviewed at SUNY Downstate 2 weeks ago and just got an acceptance this morning. I wish Stony Brook had the same turnaround. Hopefully this week or next!!
