StonyBrook ABSN: Class of 2021

Hi all,

Thought I'd start a thread here so we can connect. I am in the process of taking my pre-reqs and plan to submit my application by the Oct 2019 deadline for the Summer 2020 start.

I'm planning on attending the Sept 19 info session on campus - anyone else going?

I think they meant the account for the application. The application portal is separate then solar.

I know!! I literally check my e-mail nonstop LOL. I was already accepted into 2 other schools but I don't want to make any decisions until I hear about SBU because it is my top choice... the wait is KILLING ME

Last year acceptances started going out the 18th, but the year before it was the 28th! I’m wondering how it will be this year.

Me too! I was accepted to two others but SBU is my top also

Wow congrats on your two other acceptances.I have heard back from any of my other NY ABSN programs.do you mind sharing what schools they are?

I really just hope it's on the sooner end. My other schools start in January and need me to start the enrollment process like yesssterday. I've been putting it off as much as I can and requesting extensions

I was accepted into the accelerated programs at both LIJ Brooklyn and SUNY Binghamton.

That’s so frustrating! It’s weird because I feel like I was told 4 different things during the interview. One person at the interview said 6-8 weeks from that point, another said 6-8 weeks from the application deadline, another person said mid January, and another person said mid December. Have you tried contacting SBU? Maybe if you explain your situation, they’ll give you more information about when they’re sending decisions!

I was told different things at interviews too... One woman told me decisions would be sent out 6-8 weeks from the start of interviews... 6 weeks is this coming Monday and 8 weeks is the week of Christmas.... but then another woman told me decisions would be sent out the first week of January... soooooooooooo idk... but a few years ago acceptances were sent out December 7th... the year after that December 28th and last year December 18th... so it can literally happen any time.
