I got my acceptance letter for Fall 2022 on Monday 24th, I guess it because I applied super early when Stony had its deadline in October.

If willing, would you message me about Pace. I tried sending a message and it won't let me.

I tried, it won't let me either. Any other way we could connect?

Yes, I got into both programs. I have such a lengthy pros and cons list because they are both amazing schools, but I primarily reside in the city so relocating to SBU would be inconvenient for me. I also don't have a car and since clinical sites are pretty spread out, it would be hard for me to get around. They mentioned in the interview that clinical sites could be as far as Queens or Southampton.

I also live in the city but ultimately prefer stony over pace because of the tuition difference. Stony is about 20K, pace is around 70K. I figured even though I’d have to pay for housing for stony it would still be maximum 30K which is not bad.
however I understand the inconvenience aspect of having to find housing and transport etc.

Did they send you an email, mail or call you about the acceptance? Thanks for sharing with us!

They sent me email saying to check my application dashboard to view my admission decision.

I am in a similar situation. I got into Phillips school of nursing at Mt. sinai and the only thing I’m worried about is the commute. Luckily I will have access to a car, and I know one other student will consider commuting as well. I wouldn’t mind car pooling if anyone needs a hand. I’m mostly attracted to SBUs tuition costs (being 1/3 the cost of PSON) and the “struggle” will only be for a year. I’m not so familiar with Pace’s statistics but I know SBUs have above 90% NCLEX pass rates and they mention providing plenty of student support which I’m worried I won’t get at mt sinai.
nonetheless I wish you all luck!

I definitely share this same sentiment. I've thought about it all.

Are there any current students of SBU's accelerated program who can testify about it? That would be greatly appreciated. I've only ever found student testimonials from Pace which have heavily influenced me towards the school.

Just read previous forums. There were students who answered questions about the program, you can also join the former years program FB pages. That’s what I did to inquire a bit more about the program. I actually have a friend who’s in pace right now and to be honest.. she swayed me away from pace with her testimony.
I don’t know about stony brook but she told me with pace you need to average a 77 other wise they drop you.
I will ask if stony works similarly.

Thank you. I unfortunately don't have a facebook but I'l check out the old forums. I'd love to hear about Pace's testimony if you wouldn't mind sharing some of what your friend mentioned.

I definitely won’t want anyone to think pace isn’t a good program! And I only know of one person out of many people who went there so just take what I say with a grain of salt. But anyway they recently had an incident with the dean. Their class average pass rate was 77 in the handbooks but the dean told them 80. So a handful of students failed out because they had a 79 or 78 & it wasn’t even rounded up. one student got a lawyer involved so now the average passing grade is changed back to 77 & the students who lost their seats received them back. This was disappointing to hear because I would’ve expected a private school with a big tuition to be more lenient.
however over all my friend is fine with the program.  Every Program has its pros and cons ya know?
for me personally, the cost & having supportive faculty matters most. But again, everyone’s priorities/ preferences vary. So do what is best for you. Read old forums from both schools & then decide

I don't even have the option to accept my offer in solar anyone else?
