  1. I got accepted! Good luck to everyone else.
  2. Exactly. I don’t want to limit myself to the amount of aid I can get just because I don’t report my parents financial information. As for the deadline for financial aid, I suggest getting it done as quickly as you can. The FAFSA opened on October 1st, and SBU’s priority deadline was February 15th. They still accept applications for aid after this, but you may not be priority to receive the most. Still depends on your financial situation though. From experience at another SUNY, they can and will back pay if you provide more info throughout the year to prove you need more aid.
  3. Good morning and good luck everyone! I have a 3.86 cumulative GPA with a 146 PAX score. I got accepted into the school last week, but the follow up email told me that we won’t hear back from the nursing program until the end of June. I went to an info session early in March and the nursing advisor who hosted the program also mentioned we will hear back the end of June when we asked. I compiled a list of GPAs and PAX scores from previous year students that got accepted and it seems like I’m where I need to be.. but no telling til June.
  4. I emailed stony brook’s financial aid office because I had the same predicament with the similar questions. They replied to me: “There is a significant proof threshold that must be met to prove that your are independent. Self supporting activities do not inherently qualify you for independent status. Unless there was, what we call, an "involuntary dissolution of the family dynamic", it most often is that case that you will still need to provide your parental information. If you do have proof (through police reports, third party professionals, court documentation, etc) that you no longer have any contact with your biological parents, we can talk about the process to proceed,“ so basically, even though I’m “independent,” I still have to report my parental information.. sigh.
  5. May I ask why you’re choosing SBU over Pace? I got accepted to both but every time I make a decision I teeter back. Luckily I sent my deposits to both schools to hold my spot but I am so stuck.
  6. I actually received info about an hour ago! Be on the look out. Check the end of the class of 2022 forum!
  7. Thank you!! They are both great programs with similar admission requirements so in regards to competitiveness there is not much difference, at least in my opinion. Stony Brook does interview so that adds in a factor of competition but I know Pace used to as well. It really came down to nitty gritty details when deciding between schools because I truly love both programs.
  8. @jc_nurse Thank you immensely! You've eased a lot of my anxieties about the program.. I really do feel SBU is going to be a great fit for me. One more question and similar to what the above post just mentioned.. how is 69 credits divided over three semesters?! That's the most daunting part to me. I've not seen any other ABSN program with that many credits in such a short amount of time LOL.
  9. All of my prerequisites were completed when I applied to Pace back in October so that may be why they reviewed and accepted me already. Reading from other forums and contacting a ton of Pace ABSN students, Pace does not give any money. Everyone usually funds their tuition through loans (private or public). I got accepted to SBU and I think I'm choosing them over Pace. It is further for me but much cheaper
  10. Does anyone know the deadline to accept the offer and pay the deposit? I already submitted my deposit to another school thinking I wouldn't get into SBU LOL so I am trying to wait as long as possible and weigh my options before I'm out of more money.
  11. HI! I think we all came from Stony Brook's forum LOL. I may have been the one who mentioned I got accepted (there was another person as well). For reference, I submit my application October 7th. I got my acceptance letter on January 18th. I was notified my email saying that my application has been reviewed and I have to log into my dashboard to view my admission decision. Good luck to everyone else!
  12. Thank you. I unfortunately don't have a facebook but I'l check out the old forums. I'd love to hear about Pace's testimony if you wouldn't mind sharing some of what your friend mentioned.
  13. I definitely share this same sentiment. I've thought about it all. Are there any current students of SBU's accelerated program who can testify about it? That would be greatly appreciated. I've only ever found student testimonials from Pace which have heavily influenced me towards the school.
  14. Here is my instagram: - I'm going to edit this comment after you message me LOL
