Anyone else applying to the Accelerated BSN?? Deadline is November 1st ... YIKES! ... ... need moral support
!!
has anyone out of state heard anything??
I'm in Florida ... nada in the mail today and I don't have a New Student tab in Solar ... holding on to threads here but still holding on until the official letter arrives ! Hey, it could always be a waitlist as well ...
Oh and by the way, CONGRATS to mei88 and dfgo! I congratulate as I go
I have been reading the posts constantly and congratulations to everyone who got their offer of acceptance!! Must be an exciting time. I am still waiting to hear from them, called the office today and they said that decisions are being made daily and we should be getting something in the mail by the end of month. So dont lose hope if you haven't received a letter or your SOLAR hasn't changed ;-). I am constantly checking mine lol. Good luck to the rest of us still waiting!

ugh ... now it's the end of the month ... :flmngmd:
i'm so done checking solar. i've actually printed out the email with my id number, sealed it in an envelope and put it in one of my zippered coat pockets in the closet! (this is fl, when do i use a coat? i did not even use them during these recent cold snaps) ... plus i deleted the digital copy (as in purging from the trash as well). i never memorized the number thankfully so it will take some effort to really retrieve it when i need it. will prevent me from obsessing. now i will really find out by mail
perhaps applications are being acted on and notified in dated batches of submission? if that's the case i am certainly towards the end as i submitted everything like 2 days before the deadline, thanks to one of my recommenders who waited until like 10/29 to submit it online when i was ready to submit on 10/1 ... but i trust it was glowing ...
... anyway ...
the wait continues ... with renewed hope ... :anbd:
I'm losing hope myself, kinda not wanting to check this thread or solar anymore. Too much drama. I forgot how stressful this process is...and now looking back at when I applied to college, I don't know how I managed to submit 15 applications and survive the stress of waiting for a reply! ugh. What will be, will be.

I hear you! If it's meant to be at this moment of our lives it will happen. It's more of the WAITING and TELL ME ALREADY that's driving me to drink *wine ... just end the wait so I can proceed with plans!
I'm out of state, in Cali, and I received my letter yesterday. It was postmarked Jan 9. I submitted my application and recs and all that about a day before the deadline. My theory is that if an admitted student doesn't accept the offer of admission within 5 days, a new batch of letters is sent out to the next round of applicants. But thats just speculation.
Thank you Mellieinab for the info! Does anyone know where I can get my hands on a schedule for the 1-year accelerated program?
Good luck everybody!!! I hope you hear good news soon!
what are you talking about Paco, it's Jan 12, definitely not the end of the month yet. think positive my friend. i submitted my application 3 days before the deadline as well.
You're right. It's the variance of estimates that has been flying around this thread: first we were hearing that we would hear decisions by Christmas, then it was by New Years, then early to mid Jan and now end of Jan. That's prob the frustrating part.

Wow, they only give you 5 DAYS to accept the offer of admission?? That's so unusual, at least from my experience with undergrad - I had at least a few weeks to let them know! One can't even take financial aid into account
Oh yeah, congrats to you clam27!

DFGO Congrats! I will try to give you the good, bad and the ugly! I have a few friends have gone stonybrook nursing... none in the accelerated but in the 2 year & RN to BSN. They all rave about how wonderful stonybrook is! The 2 year and 1 year apparently share many classes in the fall and spring semester. I havent heard any specifics of teachers. They say that thier students always have jobs in the end...even this year and that once your in SB you are in for life so it is much easier to get into an NP program.
My friend in the 2 year said... congrats on getting into the accelerated... you realize you will have no life for a year right? :) You are in class 5 days a week from 9-5 (plus one later day, aprox 7) plus one 12 or 8 hour clinical shift a week, many times those clinicals are on the weekends as well. Plus you need to be studying... The only thing she remembered 1 year students complaining about there clinical schedules that were saturday nights etc. and working 6 days a week.
Good Luck! Hope to see you in july! Feel free to message me if you have other questions
