Hey guys! So I just applied to the SBU Basic (2 year) program a couple of days ago. I thought it would be nice to start a forum. Feel free to ask any questions! And good luck to all who are applying!!!

My school currently i go "new York city college of technology " for them the admission process takes only couple day lol it's hard to get in but they only looks grade if for class ap1 English psy and math that's it. If you have high gpa and pass the TEAS then you are in the program. They don't care about your background etc. if you have good grade that's enough to them But stony brook which of the most student apply there have very high gpa. But for them gpa is not the best important part as I see so far. They looking people really will improve the nation health care. Not like just punch in and punch out and get your salary.

Hi Ozzy84,
I believe we were in the same Chemistry class this past Fall at City Tech...Prof. ***** lecture class. I've applied to Stony Brook's 1 yr program and wasnt' accepted. I also applied to their 2 yr program, Pace, Drexel (in Philly) and in the process of completing my application for NYU. If i dont get into any of the school in NY, I will be going to Drexel, they've accepted me for their 1 yr accelerated program.

I am not really sure, maybe not as many males apply? Or maybe gender is not a factor? We are a very diverse class...wide variety of ages and ethnicities..there are classmates from other states, from LI, from upstate... nobody had rlly been able to crack the admissions code lol but I will say that all of us rlly have a passion to become a nurse

Corrine611: Hey! Sorry about not getting into the one year program but best of luck with the 2 year program! And yes, I can't stand the waiting time either. I wish they would tell us earlier than May.
The waiting is killing me as well! At least you guys know how i feel lol ... I heard the 1 year people found out sooner this year then the applicants last year so hopefully we will find out a little earlier
Thank you akaur! Best of luck to you as well. I am nervous that since I did not get into the accelerated that I also won't get into the two year. Hopefully the school is more organized and we find out sooner.
