Stony Brook BSN - Summer/Fall 2011 Applicants

ok, it's never too early to start a thread about applying for 2011 ... ... which i am most definitely doing even though i am still waitlisted for 2010. i just won't be able to attend this year if i get in ...

but that's ok! i'll be done with all my prereqs and have time to write a better application (if in fact that is at all possible, you know?).

anyone else applying to stony brook for summer 2011?

I still haven't heard anything.....I don't know if that's good or bad. Even if we are waitlisted, we could possibly not know if we are in till late June, right??

I just got an email from SB saying that decisions for the 2 year program will be made in the beginning of April. I guess this means I didn't get in to the accelerated program.

I received the same email as well. My heart skipped a couple of beats when I saw my lit inbox.

Did you receive a letter in the mail stating that you were waitlisted? People on the waitlist can be called to enter the program right up until before classes begin. Once July 1 rolls around and you have not heard anything you will know then for sure the class was already filled. I got a waitlist letter last year in January and then a "class is filled" letter in July. Since I am out of state, around Memorial Day was when I lost hope waiting, as I knew it would be impossible for me to just pick up and go just like that if I had been called.

I'm still waiting to hear as well. I didn't apply to the 2 year program so I didn't get that email you guys were talking about. I did email someone last week and they said decisions would be made by the end of February, which is on Monday, so who knows.

I'm still waiting too...I panicked when I saw the e-mail come in today about the 2-year program. I thought it was news about the 1-year! Good luck to you and everyone else!

I'm still waiting too, I like all of yall was nervous to see an email from Stony Brook. I think they sent the email as a formality not to say someone was rejected. Just like we got the email from the 1 year program. Welp I shall continue to wait, hopefully for good news. Good luck everyone!

Last year, I called around and was told the deposit was due by April 1. I don't believe there's a hard and fast deadline, though.

how do i make it so that i dont get e-mail reminders about this thread? its just making me depressed now that i didn't get in

foifi, I believe there is an option to unsubscribe to the thread in the email reminder.

Correct there are options to delete subscription from a thread.

Go to MyAccount in the yellow tool bar above and click on subscribed threads, select thread to un-subscribe to and scroll down to the bottom and in the drop down box select the delete option and then click on go

I am still waiting too....so sad to see more no's here...at least you all seem to have other options in the 2 year or other schools...trying to stay positive for us all!!

As for the 1 year, it is hard to stay positive but I am happy that I have not recd a no yet. The waiting is agonizing though, not knowing until possibly June will be like torture.:nuke:

I agree anniet, I'm hoping to get at least some word that we're on the waitlist, if that's the case. Maybe Monday we'll hear something since it's the last day in Feb. Fingers crossed for us all waiting to hear!!
