ok, it's never too early to start a thread about applying for 2011 ... ... which i am most definitely doing even though i am still waitlisted for 2010. i just won't be able to attend this year if i get in ...
but that's ok! i'll be done with all my prereqs and have time to write a better application (if in fact that is at all possible, you know?).
anyone else applying to stony brook for summer 2011?
Hi I was accepted to the 12 month program at Stonybrook but I am from Ontario, Canada. Does anyone know of students that took the program and then came back to Canada to work? Is there any chance you won't be able to write the exam and get your licence? I phoned the College of nurses of Ontario but they said they can't evaluate any programs until they are completed. I find this crazy! Thanks so much as I really want to go to Stonybrook but not if I can't come back to Ontario!
Under the section that that says student admission I have the admission decision response link. Unfortunately it says I didn't get in.
Aw Zee ... I am disappointed to hear that ... but don't EVER give up! You want to be a nurse, you WILL be a nurse. I was waitlisted last year and I did not get in, I tried again. If it's not Stony Brook, it will be another school meant for you. Positive vibes your way!!
My foot however is only halfway through the door with Stony Brook. I have to determine if it's going to be financially feasible, being that I am out of state. I am waiting to hear from 2 Florida schools which are state-funded and those might be more realistic. So right now although I am happy, I am still on the fence about it all. In about a month, I will know for sure where I am headed.
I have a question for those who are currently in the accelerated program at SB: Did any of you/your classmates transfer in credits for nursing courses/any courses in the accelerated program? I'm currently in the 5th week of my first semester at a 2 yr associates degree program, and Im wondering if I should finish this semester out in hopes that SB will transfer the 8.5 credits for the course (Nursing 101 Fundamentals of Nursing) or if I should drop out, spend my time working extra hours and saving up for the 12 months I wont be able to work!! Any advice would be great!
Congrats to everyone who got accepted.. and for those who are still waiting, hang in there! According to Solar, those who were accepted are required to reply with their decision in 10 days so I'm sure by then a lot more of you will be hearing some good news!
Paco hug us as we wait! It's dreadful...!!
BIG  for all of you waiting!!
You should call the school of nursing directly to ask, but generally they do not accept any transfer courses. Congrats to everyone who got in! For those who have yet to hear, good luck!
Not even nutrition? I was hoping that could transfer in even though it's not a pure nursing course. I had to take that class for other programs to which I applied.

Are you thinking you didn't get in because you don't have a new student tab, or did you get actual notification that you didn't get in? Someone else said that last year not everyone heard on the same day.
