Stony Brook Accelerated Nursing Class of 2017

Published

My attempt at helping those who wish to apply to the Stony Brook Accelerated (1 year) Nursing Program.

I know they said in one of the first emails that they wouldn't even be done processing until the 20th so I wouldn't give up hope. I'm also hoping some alumni or current students comment on what to expect during the interview

thanks zvolquez and other friends ! If anyone knows whom should i contact to ask about interview?

Ahh im so nervous! I sent my application in the day after it opened, and still haven't heard anything about an interview. I got accepted to Drexel's 11 month program and they need my down payment very soon. I'm hoping to hear about a possible interview with Stony Brook next week so I can make a decision!

Well I've heard of some people taking a loss in terms of their deposit for one school when they get into the program of their choice at another. It's not fun but at least you have a plan B. I hope things work or for you.

Congratulations to everyone who has received interviews already.

Does anybody know when they will stop sending out interview emails? Also, being from out of state, does that make it more difficult to get since SB is a public university?

I'm not sure when they wills stop sending out interview requests, but I know someone asked about being out of state during an information session. From what they said they have a variety of students from out of state to international students as well so I'm pretty sure everyone is on an even playing field.

I don't think it makes a difference where you come from, your tuition will just be a little higher.

That makes me curious: where is everyone from? I'm from NYC

Suffolk county, Long island over here!

born on Long Island, raised in NYC, now living in Colorado but still a ny state resident

I moved from Colorado and my classmate moved from Washington State.

Just want to make sure you guys know to check your Stony Brook e-mail. I'm not sure how, but some people were assigned mentees and that is how they reach them.
