My attempt at helping those who wish to apply to the Stony Brook Accelerated (1 year) Nursing Program.
Hi everyone!
I applied to the accelerated program at SB in early September and received an email a few days ago to schedule an interview (it will be Oct. 21). I'm sort of in shock because SB was a "stretch" program for me- one that I would really love to go to but do not expect to be accepted to. Now that I have an interview, my hopes are way up for all of those low-gpa applicants such as myself (3.17). Good luck to you all! I will probably be lurking around this forum to unload some of this anxiety, or at least share it with all of you

I have an an undergrad GPA of 3.17 too but my sciences are 4.0 so far (still taking micro). I submitted my app for the 1 yr program on Oct 1st but I think it's relatively early to hear back, at least for me. I plan to apply to SBs 2yr as well if I don't get into the 1yr, but I'm curious: is it better to complete an accelerated 1 yr program at another SUNY school or attend Stony Brook and complete it in 2yrs?
SB is my top choice for so many reasons, getting accepted into either program would make me the happiest person alive. There's advantages to both schools, the other SUNY vs SB, but I feel a degree from SB would be mean so much more regardless of the amount of time it takes to complete. Or is that just me? lol

it seems like only one person on the thread was contacted for an interview. its still early! try not to think about it. is everything updated on your SOLAR? everything was marked as received (except official transcripts) as of yesterday. i'm guessing the initial overload of applications has been settled.
