My attempt at helping those who wish to apply to the Stony Brook Accelerated (1 year) Nursing Program.

Hey BeeUps - Thank you for starting this thread. Curious to know your take on how dedicated the professors are in supporting those in the program to ensure their success. Also, getting into the 1 year program is competitive to say the least. Is it competitive once you are in the class going through the program, like everyone man/woman for themselves or is the atmosphere more of camaraderie?

Were any of the pre-reqs they needed to complete sciences? I ask because I'm submitting my application this afternoon and I'm currently taking AP2 and Micro so I've only completed 2 of them. Not sure if my application will be considered. Thanks.

I was wondering if you wouldnt mind sharing what you brought to the table? Like your major, how much patient hours did you have, stuff like that

Also what type of question did they ask you in the interview?

The page said that we had to have three of the 5 prereqs done byt the time our application is turned in. A&P1, A&P11 STATS, DEV PSYC, MICRO and CHEM

on the website it says "Completion of three prerequisite sciences by the application deadline".

I just confirmed with Karen. You need 3 of the 4 science pre-reqs completed by the application deadline.

Why does supporting documentation on SOLAR state that references haven't been received when they were submitted electronically?

My solar said my references were received but I know in the past people have had issues with their solar accounts. I would call just to be sure

hm, okay. do you think it depends on when you submitted the app? and aren't you only supposed to send official transcripts if/when you're accepted?

Yep, official only if you're accepted . When you check your application online and not through solar does it say your references were received ? Are you definitely sure they submitted them?

okay, got it! and they were definitely submitted online. just got an email about 'due to a high volume of apps received recently...' things may not be updated for a few days. i'll let you know!
