That's awesome congrats! I was able to touch base with a recruiter from scripps but she just wants me to reach out once the CA RN comes through How was the interview process/timeline? Did you decide on where you'd like to live? It all sounds so exciting!!

Out of curiousity, has anyone applied to positions before receiving their endorsement? I want to start applying but will hospitals/recruiters bother with my resume if the endorsement is still pending?

Hi Makeitrain Its nice to see I'm not the only person tired of the northeast lol. I've been looking to relocate as well.. I'm still in the beginning stages of getting my license endorsed but I've always wanted to be in California and SD seems like it has everything I'm looking for. I'll be visiting for the first time very soon so I'm hoping in that time I can sort of scout the areas where I can see myself living. I'm still relatively a new RN (8 months) working in Oncology/Med-Surg but I'm interested in moving into a different area of nursing. By the time I hit a year I hope to have endorsement and begin applying. I'm just concerned about being out of state and have recruiters overlook my resume because I don't have a local address. Also because I want to change specialties it might be a bit more difficult because I may not have the experience recruiters may be looking for. Either way, I'm all for taking chances. I hope everything goes well and I look forward to seeing where you land! :)

That sounds like such a pain I spoke to someone at the BRN and they said I only needed to send the request form to the school of nursing but its better to be safe than have the process take longer. In terms of the live scan form, there's a field that says "You Number: RN#______" and underneath it says "OCA Number (Agency Identifying Number)". I called a UPS store who provides Live Scan services and the employee told me this is my CA RN number which didn't really make sense to me. He said that if I didn't have one to leave it blank. Can anyone tell me what that is?

    california license by endorsement

Hi all, I'm in NY with my BSN as a second degree looking to get endorsed in CA. Did anyone request transcripts from their schools before actually submitting the online application for endorsement? I plan to get the LiveScan done in CA and submit the online application while I'm there, I figured maybe I can request my transcripts a few days before so they can be received around the same time. Or should the transcripts come after? Also, I understand we need transcripts from ALL schools attended, but does the actual "Request for transcript" form thats supposed to be submitted to the basic school of nursing also need to be submitted to the school where I received my first degree and took prereqs? It looks to me as though the form has instructions just for your nursing school. Thanks for any clarification and feedback based on your own experiences!

I read on one of the previous threads that the school charges the full time tuition for the summer and fall semesters (12 credits even though we're taking more than 12). Then the summer tuition charged is per credit. At one of the info sessions we were told that it's approximately $17,000 but of course the bursar would have exact numbers. I haven't done the math myself yet or contacted the bursar but if you find out let us know!

I would call the school though to see what other steps you need to go through. I need to do that myself.

You send the official transcript when you're done with the prereqs. If you've finished then you're good to go! I have to wait till this semester ends.

Now that the stress of applying and waiting to get into this program is over, the stress of how im paying for my education kicks in lol. I never had to take out loans either but I hear such horror stories about loan debt it makes me nervous.

I'm planning to, all my financial aid went to undergrad :/ I plan to save as much as I can to offset the amount of loans I'd need. My transition from HS to CUNY was pretty smooth so this entire process is very new to me, I'm unsure of where to start. I feel like I need an orientation just to navigate through Solar lol.

This happened to me, I guess it takes a while to update in solar. The same way the unofficial transcripts and other documents submitted with the application didn't reflect right away in solar.
