Stony Brook Accelerated Nursing Class of 2017

Published

My attempt at helping those who wish to apply to the Stony Brook Accelerated (1 year) Nursing Program.

They were assigned email accounts and mentees before being accepted into the program?

Specializes in Med-surg, home care.

Hello! For those in the program can you tell me what the schedule is like? I am thinking of applying next year to the accelerated program. Thanks

I'm from NYC too! :)

Thank you so much for all of the information you've provided here BeeUps. It is extremely generous and helpful. I applied for the Accelerated BSN 1-year program, but have not heard anything yet. My application did not go through until the 29th of September, as one of my references waited until the 11th hour to submit (lots of fun!). I did not realize they would be in touch so soon regarding interviews. I will now be checking my email like nobody's business.

I lived in NY most of my life (MA for a few years), but am currently in OH. I realize many applicants are from other states and countries, so hopefully if I am granted an interview there will be time to properly arrange travel. (I am still finishing a class for my pre-reqs, work full-time, and have an internship/volunteer position.) I noticed you are from out of state BeeUps, so maybe you can provide some insight on this front. Solidifying a position in Nursing school is definitely a priority for me, to say the least, so I will willing jump through all hoops presented.

Good luck to everyone on here!

Hey @fran_3 good luck today!

yes good luck!! you've got this!

@fran_3 good luck today!! I am going in tomorrow for my interview tomorrow, definitely have to brush up on my math today

Thanks guys! I'll be sure to let you know how it goes! Good luck to all of you who have interviews this week! You got this :)

is anyone preparing for this math test? if so, how lol

I'm just going to go through practice problems in my TEAS and HESI manuals. I'm sure that'll help. But I believe someone mentioned Khan academy helps with the topics they're testing on.

I was stressing about my last reference but at the info session Karen said they give you 10 days from the deadline to get them in (such a relief!). My last reference didn't submit until Oct 8th.

For those who have interviews, don't be nervous! It went well and they make you feel super welcome! Math test is simple and writing sample is straightforward. I was told they received 700 applications, selected 175 for interviews and will select 80 from that pool for admission.
