Stony Brook School of Nursing has recently opened the undergraduate application portal for the 2021 school year. I was part of an allnurses thread for their Basic BSN program last year, and the information and support from other applicants was amazing; so I jumped on creating a thread for this cycle as soon as applications became available.
Any questions or even just casual discussion about the program is more than welcome! Can’t wait to talk to all of you. ?

I was emailing admissions at the beginning of this pandemic and asked if it would be an issue that I was taking anatomy and physiology online and they said it was fine. There’s obviously nothing we could do about it since all the schools closed down but I would email them just to make sure
@freddyJ620 I emailed them a long time ago about it but they never got back to me ? I am not sure if courses from portage learning counts though

Ah, I'm not familiar with portage learning. I would definitely give them a call or another email to follow up

Good luck! Hopefully it doesn’t feel like too long a wait for you. ?

Yes, it does matter. If your Anatomy and Physiology I/II lab and lecture were graded as one course, you put it in as the 4-credit option. If you took the lab separate from lecture (like if they show up on your transcript as two separate courses), then you put the Anatomy and Physiology I/II lecture grade as the 3-credit option and the lab grade under the 1-credit option (I don’t have the application open [I’m on my iPhone at the moment] so pardon me if I got the number values for the credits wrong).
Thank you. I just finished my app. Stony Brook is the only school I am applying to.

Do the recommenders receive an automated email from SBU to write the letter? I asked some former professors of mine to write me a letter and put in their info. Just want to know if they get something or if they have to send it to a specific email address

I believe that they get an email from SBU with a website link where they can just upload the letter!

@aspiring NPI’m not familiar with that, I would get into contact with Admissions and ask maybe? I’ve only ever taken classes through 4-year colleges so I’m not sure!
