Stony Brook School of Nursing has recently opened the undergraduate application portal for the 2021 school year. I was part of an allnurses thread for their Basic BSN program last year, and the information and support from other applicants was amazing; so I jumped on creating a thread for this cycle as soon as applications became available.
Any questions or even just casual discussion about the program is more than welcome! Can’t wait to talk to all of you. ?

Trying to find some old questions that I can outline for my interview
Currently looking at general nursing school questions and want to be as close as possible to what they're looking for!
Doing just that is enough to prepare for the interview. That's what I did. The interviewers were so sweet and easy to talk to. Be prepared to talk about yourself, strengths, challenges you overcame, and you'll be set!
I just finished the math and writing assessment. It was exactly everything that was in the email from Pamela. Decimals, fractions, percentages

Hi Freddy- Thanks for your insight and good luck to you. Would you let me know the logistics of how you signed in for interview and assessment? Did you just copy and paste the Zoom link to access the interviewers? Also, for the assessments, do you remain on zoom and then click on some kind of link to access the assessment? I am just a little concerned with the technical parts, and it would be helpful to know the logistics.

I believe you have to take Anatomy and Physiology I & II (or Anatomy and Physiology as two separate courses) and General Microbiology for those credits.

Are applicants given a number to answer in a specific order? Is it randomized who is first with each question? Are the questions different for each person?
Thanks!
For my group, we had 2 faculty, and 5 students. They first asked us to introduce ourselves. Then they proceeded to ask us 4 questions, and we all had the same questions. There was no particular order for who answers, they just called on you, and it was your turn.
After the 4 questions, they explained some details about the program, and then asked if we had questions for them.

Just had my interview. It was nerve-racking at first but the faculty members were so great. Very basic interview questions that get to know u more as a person. Now on to the math and writing. I'm so nervous. Does anyone have any advice? I suck at writing on demand.
