Stony Brook ABSN Class of 2022

Stony Brook School of Nursing has recently opened the undergraduate application portal for the 2021 school year. I was part of an allnurses thread for their Basic BSN program last year, and the information and support from other applicants was amazing; so I jumped on creating a thread for this cycle as soon as applications became available.

Any questions or even just casual discussion about the program is more than welcome! Can’t wait to talk to all of you. ?

Just finished the interview, about to take the math assessment. The interviewer said the result will come out in 6-8 weeks. So around Christmas and early January.

Just want double check, Monday was the last day for interview right?

To my knowledge, yes. Today and last Monday were the only days offered to students for an interview

Yes today was the 2nd and last day of the first waves of emails. was there a second waves of emails requesting interviews?

When I was taking the assessment test, I realized there was about 85 people on zoom including faculty members... So it seems like they interview about 150 to 160 (if you double today's number). They said we should get an answer end of december, or early January.

Hey! Just wondering if anyone has any updates from Stonybrook! Are they completely done with all interviews? Did anyone get an email to interview this week? Did anyone get acceptances yet? please lmk, im trying to establish a timeline

I was wondering the same thing too. Curious to know if they will be having a second wave of interviews. So far I haven't heard any updates.

Decisions so should be made by Christmas time. I haven’t heard anything since I interviewed but I’m pretty sure there’s a second interview

I could be totally wrong, but I saw 50 applicant during the math/writing zoom call this past Monday. I’m assuming it was roughly the same amount last Monday too?
 

Maybe they interviewed 100? Hard to tell if there’s a second wave or not but decisions are pretty close so I wonder how they’re doing it if they do.

Our interviewer told us that they were interviewing around 200 people this cycle.
