Stony Brook ABSN Class of 2022

Published

Stony Brook School of Nursing has recently opened the undergraduate application portal for the 2021 school year. I was part of an allnurses thread for their Basic BSN program last year, and the information and support from other applicants was amazing; so I jumped on creating a thread for this cycle as soon as applications became available.

Any questions or even just casual discussion about the program is more than welcome! Can’t wait to talk to all of you. ?

Yes same here I got the Monday at 12.  Dr. Pamela  emailed me Friday at 4 for my interview

Hi guys

I scheduled my interview for 11/16/20, I received a confirmation email that it was confirmed and the group I am in... but also received another email saying that the slot was full that I need to reschedule... Did that happen to anyone else? I am not getting an answer from them.

Hey @prospectivenursingstudent I just checked my email and I did not have this issue. What day did you schedule your interview on? By this I mean; did you schedule it when we first received the email on Tuesday? or later than Tuesday? I saw that they sent us an email a few days ago requesting that we double check that our scheduled time was actually processed. Your request to schedule might not have been processed as a result of a technical issue on the school's end.

Hello @vincentdauge

I did schedule mine right away... but I also received a confirmation email with zoom code and everything. How do you double check that the schedule time was processed? I didn't want go back and do a double schedule.

Hi @prospectivenursingstudent I think you should email the school explaining the issue if you have not already. It could also be a mistake that they emailed you saying your scheduled time was full, especially if you had already gotten a confirmation email for your selected date. Luckily you have a week to get this sorted out before your interview and think they will resolve the issue for you easily. I wish you the best of luck because I know how stressful this process is. I'm interviewing in about two hours and I am so nervous LOL. Best regards to everyone else who is interviewing today!

thank you @vincentdauge

Best luck today.

I'm also interviewing at noon today! So nervous. Best of luck to you and everyone else! I wonder how many interviewees are in each group

Best of luck to those who interview today! You will do great! Just remember to look at the camera when you speak ? LOL. Would love to hear an update on how it went later this afternoon!

Thank you!

I had my interview at 8 this morning.  It was such a pleasure! The two faculty interviewers were so great in making us feel relaxed and the other applicants had such great personalities! It worries me, because I'm sure this will be a difficult decision to make considering how impressive my group was. There was five applicants with two faculty members.

Definitely prepare but make sure to relax at the same time!

@_allnurse thank you for sharing. If everyone does great in the interview, maybe the assessment part will help them decide who get in. I just wish they had more seats available.

Does anybody know of any good threads that give more insight into the interview and exam process from previous years?

Trying to find some old questions that I can outline for my interview

Currently looking at general nursing school questions and want to be as close as possible to what they're looking for!
