Stephen King Readers Thread

Published

So a recent thread got me thinking (which is never a good thing) It appears we have number of Stephen King Readers. I suggest we do a nursing DX for our favorite King Character!

BTW if you liked The Shining (Book not movie) you are going to love Dr. Sleep

One of my favorite SK short stories ever- "Everything's Eventual."

I know I read this but set it up please!

Glad I had C sections.

I can't think right now but how about a nursing diagnosis for a decapitated pregnant woman lying on the sidewalk in labor and still able to do her Lamaze breathing?

Anybody come up with and ICD10 dx?

I wouldn't be surprised to find it in there.

Glad I had C sections.

To tell the truth, I was hoping for a cesarean with #4. I had 3 lady partsl deliveries with no epidural and while I think I did a decent job, it really hurt. I think the worst part for me was that something was controlling my body and I could do nothing about it.

I did end up with an emergency cesarean and you know what? It was WAY better!!

Oh, he has freaked out many a small child and many not-so-small not-children, between that, the Evil Dead remake tattoo, the Evil Ash from Army of Darkness tattoo, the Freddy Krueger tattoos on his legs...

I love that man. There's just something about a man who really appreciates horror. :inlove:

He knows that they all float down here. (:

I bet there's an ICD 10 code for "fear of Stephen King". Or "obsessed w King".

I mean, we've got squirrel bite.

I really want to read this thread but I'm a few books behind. Don't want to spoil it for myself.

King has been my favorite author since 3rd grade when I got detention for reading Thinner during class quiet time.

Detention for reading? That's a new one.

I read "The Shining" years ago, it was, hands down, the scariest book I have ever read! I could not read it at night if I was alone. Dr Sleep was equally as good, but not as frightening. (of course I'm MUCH older now, and not scared of anything anymore!)

I know books tend to be inherently better than movie adaptations, but do you think that if I've seen several Stephen King book-adaptation movies, that the scariness of the books would be dulled? Just, in that, in at least some respect they would be predictable? There are several that I saw when I was much younger (I think I was probably 10 or 11 the first time I saw The Shining), but I would love to read the books.

I mean, I'm getting married in 3 days so I have about 28 things to do tonight. But I also have this really great tea, cozy sushi pajamas, and found the full text of The Shining online...

Oh, but we do. We have all the time in the world. You see, Annie Wilkes has tied and hobbled us, and won't let us leave the room until all the books are read.

And that can take forever... And ever...and ever.
