So, how are you staying healthy and fit this spring? I've been making extra effort to drink at least 5 bottles of water every day ( I just refill my 16oz bottle) and I have been riding my exercise bike for 20-40 minutes daily plus using some free weights and doing pushups( for tones sleek arms) and lunges (trying to keep my legs looking slim!) Its so tough trying to stay in shape in nsg school, man, I am really trying hard. I have been indulging since its spring break in moderate portions of not so healthy foods but I'm more active though........I try to do some housecleaning or just walk more during the day...........but this semester I am determined to be looking good in this warm lovely weather, I bought a few spring shirts and skirts and some fitted jeans.........stuff that really shows off your figure and I am determined to look good in it! I currently am 5'3 and weigh between 102-106 depending on if its my time of the month, I had put on 10 pounds last semester but I cut back on junk and upped the water and started walking and using weights so the weight came off............so share with me what you are doing to look teriffic this spring/summer.............I'd love to hear!

Cutting out the sugar!!!!! Fresh produce from the Farmer's Market.

I have found that by increasing my fats, I am consuming much fewer calories. Also try to make most of my food, and no junk food.............

More of the same. Going to the gym at least three days a week for weights, cardio, etc. Hopefully, going to restart yoga in the next week and go twice a week. I've been skipping it for a couple of months since I started school, but now that I'm on day shift, I think I can swing it.

I try to eat whole grains, nut, and lots of fruits and veggies, along with low fat meats, oil oil, eggs and dairy, especially plain yogurt (with fruit). :)

Good luck in your efforts.

How am I staying healthy? Shoot...I'm just not, no other way to say it. Any minute not spent with screaming preschoolers, cooking dinner, studying, or other endless chores I try and relax as much as I can. Usually every semester I get one or two colds so thankfully I think the little relaxation I do is helping me. Plus I drink more water now which helps. Hoping I can get back on a fitness schedule once I graduate.

Hello! I'm not in nursing school YET. I'm still waiting for my acceptance letter. I started working full-time last year, while finishing up my prereqs. Between work, school, kids, and a husband, I found myself cutting out my workouts and eating quick

foods during my commutes. Needless to say, I picked up twenty pounds in a year. I have resolved to get back into my fitness habits. I rejoined Weight Watcher's and I work out for at least 60 mins. 5 times a week. I drink about 80 ozs. of water a day and I have cut back on the sugar big time. I am taking my vitamins and fiber pills faithfully and I make sure to get adequate amounts of sleep. I am down almost 5 lbs. and my energy level is really up. I want to be in the best possible shape when I finally start my nursing classes.

I've lost 2 stone - but it took me a year!!! :chuckle

My hubby has now brought me a heart rate monitor which I am trying to get to grips with - it a bit complicated :uhoh3: But I'm going for it!!!! Got my name down for a 5 mile run May 2nd 'The Great Welsh Run' in aid of Cystic Fibrosis

Kay the 2nd :)

I actually cut back on my exercise because the stress of nursing school was causing me to waste away. I walk on the days I don't work (Mon/Wed/Fri/Sat). I've always had good eating habits and drink a lot of water. I was 5'3" 110 lbs but I looked bony, now I'm 115. I feel better now, size 2 pants don't hang off me anymore.

Hubby and I joined Weight Watchers about a month ago. We're both down about 10 pounds. I have to admit that I do feel alot better drinking the water I am supposed to have, and eating correctly.

I'm also getting a treadmill with income tax (if it EVER gets here!), cause my personal goal is to be under 200 pounds and able to run 3 miles with my daughter when she comes home in either June or July for two weeks (before going to Baghdad).

Wish me luck! :)

I put on a few pounds last semester (5) but I have managed to lose them. I try to drink lots of water and I drink diet sodas instead of regular but I try not too drink to much soda! I try to eat lots fruits, steamed veggies with rice, cheese, fish, low fat dairy and I love snacking on almonds. My skin looks much brighter and healthier and I feel better. I do treat myself to ice cream and chocoalte a few times a week but when I do I make sure I enjoy it and get back on track! I use free weights and try to walk in the park where I live on nice days or I will jump rope in my living room if its rainy, it really makes you sweat and slims down your legs.........I am trying really hard to maintain my health in nsg school but its tough. I take a multivitamin daily..........I'm currently 5'4 and a size 1-3 and I feel really good! I would like flatter abs.......seems like its tougher to tone your abs even if you are thin in other places.......I want to look trim in a bikini so I need to work on my abs more!

Ive lost 12 pounds so far this semester. I have cut back on junk food consumption, and have totally stopped drinking soda. The soda was killing me!! Now if I could only stop wolfing down eggo waffles with cinnamon butter and syrup, I could really reach my ideal weight!

I've started going to aerobics classes 4-5 times per week, and I love it. I am not motivated enough to work out on my own, so the classes are great. When the 55-year-old women are still going after 45 minutes, my 22-year-old body has no excuse!! I'm 5'6", about 125 lbs. I so need to tone up, though. Those french fries are starting to show! And just before summer! Yikes!!!

I have been training for a half marathon since I would not have time to train for my triathlons this summer due to school. My first half marathon is this Saturday. My goal is to do another half marathon next month and one this fall and also throw some other races in during the summer.

I also need to eat better and drink more water :)
